Breakfast by Salt’s Cure is a special, neighborhood-y spot that lives up to the hype. The food has an actual perspective, not just standard breakfast food. The main draw is the oatmeal griddle cakes, which are thin, crisped on the edges with a soft, tender, gooey warm center. They have a moist sweetness that makes up for the lack of syrup, served with butter and toppings. The OG and blueberry pancakes are also delicious, and the pink lady apple cakes are a highlight. For savory options, the garbanzo sausage and pork sausage are excellent. The soft scramble and breakfast potatoes (crispy brown homestyle) are good, though the potatoes can be flavorless without ketchup. The chicken cutlet is fine but bland next to the griddle cakes. The coffee is a solid cup with free refills. The inside has a great feel, and the outdoor seating is bright, heated, and cozy. Service is polite, kind, and quick. The main drawback is the order/pay system at the front, which means no table service for refills or extra orders. The food is affordable for the amount received. This is a special place, but not worth a long wait if not a pancake person.
