I've lived across the street from the Casablanca all of my life. Watched it go through many changes(mainly from being owned by Mrs. Esther to what it is now) I was always too young to enter it and when I got old enough to it was on its last legs. I like what they have done with the place and the new owners are great. Drinks ain't too shabby either lol
Stepped in this spot on the late late night tip (probably 2:30 am) on a Friday already probably wasted if we're being honest here. My impression was that it's somewhat divey but possesses a character of its own. You can't pinpoint the average customer base because it's pretty much people from all walks of life. As a 3rd generation brownstone baby this place is special...my parents partied here...the original owner Ms Esther is a bed stuy legend who passed away several years ago...I'm a bed stuy girl and the Blanca as we call it will always be OUR neighborhood bar...Ms Esther legacy lives on
