Cibao Downtown Restaurant Reviews
Always a good choice coming here! Delicious food. Even better staff.
I ordered the beans and beef stew. The beans actually had a very good flavor, but they were mostly liquid, so it felt more like soup than a side of beans. The beef stew also had decent flavor, but the meat was a little dry and tough, not as tender as I expected for stew.
Overall, the taste was not bad, but the texture and portion balance could be better. I might give it another try, but I hope the beans come with more actual beans and the beef is cooked more tender next...read full review

Cibao Downtown Restaurant is a small, cozy spot in downtown Brooklyn that offers flavorful Dominican food loved by many customers. Visitors often praise the delicious and plentiful dishes, with favorites including chicken, rice, beans, and traditional sides like Maduros and Arroz Amarillo. The pineapple juice is highly recommended for its perfect taste, and the music adds to the enjoyable atmosphere. Many guests find the food nostalgic, reminiscent of homemade cooking, and appreciate the tender chicken and well-seasoned dishes. Some items, like the Pastelitos and Chicharron de Pollo, are especially praised for their crispy and flavorful qualities. The restaurant also serves popular items such as Sancocho, which is flavorful and includes tender chicken, and Arroz Amarillo, which received high marks. However, not all dishes are perfect; some reviews mention that the beans can be more substantial, and the beef stew might be dry and tough. The beef empanadas offered on Sunday are notably better than those on other days. A few dishes like Alcapurria and Tres Leches Cake received mixed reviews, with some finding them not to their taste. Overall, the staff is friendly and attentive, creating a positive dining experience. Many customers plan to return, making Cibao Downtown Restaurant a recommended spot for authentic Dominican cuisine.
