Amazing
Crowded on a weekend night.
Gyu don - loved the shredded beef. Thinly sliced the way it is supposed to be. Generous portion. Rice is unflavored and mushy.
Niku udon - tastes authentic.
Tako wasabi - very tiny bowl. Tastes good.
Overall very reasonably priced for NYC. The mains are below $20.
Waitstaff are not the most friendly but I think they’re doing what they can to manage the crowd.

Friendly service, authentic small and easygoing dining area. The Udon was amazing, the broth complex and clean, multilayered meaty and umami. Could have used a bit more of that delicious meat, but no complaints.

Don Udon is the best udon place in Brooklyn and the only one that tastes like Japan. The udon noodles are bouncy while sitting in a flavorful rich but clean broth. The Niku beef is incredible and so thin but tasty. The clam udon and curry udon combos are authentic and nostalgic, with sides of half gyuudon. The cucumber unagi is highly recommended, with unagi quality like that of an omakase. The cozy environment feels just like a local spot in Japan. Service is super fast and staff is extremely friendly. They use QR codes for ordering and paying, which is very helpful for splitting the bill. The outdoor seating has a nice laid back vibe. The eel appetizer tastes great but is very small. While the food may not be for everyone, it is well worth the wait. Prepare for a line usually, but it is worth it.
