So so disappointed. I have no idea how this place got such high reviews.Dad’s egg rolls- $12 two small spring rolls, $6 each, no particular flavor tasted very generic.Mixed greens with dried shrimp in lobster broth- waiter described it at an umami bomb. I have never had pea shoots taste so bland. The dried shrimps had no flavor (how is that even possible?!), lobster broth tasted of hot water. This was by far the worst dish. I dumbed the left over fish sauce from the egg rolls in it to give it some flavor.Monk fish in spicy red curry- was the best dish bc it was the only one with flavor. Once again overpriced but the little monkfish that was in there (5 slices) was tasty and well cooked. Better even then the monkfish was the few pieces of chopped mushrooms in it bc they had a grill char on them (they were not whole ones just little chipped up pieces). Also in the dish was a few pieces of a green veg that looked like broccolini but I’m sure was something else. The curry was coconut based and tasted like an average Thai curry but was at least spicy.Beef Skewers- they put just enough ground beef on the skewer to cover the wood stick, the value on this dish was laughable. There was barely any beef on the damn stick it was so thin. Came with a cut up lamb sausage which was tasty but came on a bowl of plain rice glass noodles. That dish we ate half of and threw the rest away.$130 down the train on a bad meal. I’m so disappointed and sad bc this place I read was excellent. I think it’s a typical example of a place opened up awhile ago got great reviews and stopped trying.I would never go back or suggest it. What a shame.

This food was so delicious that 6 months later I am still thinking about it once a week. The fusion was great and I am so pleased it was shown to me by a friend. The restaurant is rather small but does not feel claustrophobic. The service was fantastic, we had a very pleasant waiter. I would suggest making a reservation in advance since seating is limited.

Given all the wonderful options in Brooklyn I would advise against this restaurant. Though the vibe is fun the food was sub par and the service felt a bit inhospitable. If you do find yourself dining here avoid the fisherman’s stew or duck necks — sparse, average tasting, and difficult to eat. The tuna appetizer is a safe tasty item however.

The tuna crunch, the nam dua, and the confit duck neck were really good but the double happiness dumplings were overcooked. The soup base for those dumplings and the fisherman's noodle house was pretty much the same (one more flavored with seafood). Unfortunately, because the soup base tasted lamb-y which is not my favorite, those two dishes were a miss. I also didn't get the Mexican fusion part too. The service was good but not too attentive - gave out mismatched chopsticks and spilled water when pouring and didn't clean it up.

We got the lamb neck and it was so delicious. The meat was very flavorful and tender. The taco presentation was the perfect combination of flavors. I loved that it was interactive (i was able to build my own taco). We also got the oysters with a sauce to that I'm forgetting but it was really yummy. Last thing we got was the red spicy curry with clams which was tasty but beware it was truly spicy. Ambiance was really great. Romantic/cozy lighting and art/plants for decor.

Loved coming to Falansai, went there last week to celebrate my husband's birthday and it was quite the treat. You know when its a snowy day in NYC yet a restaurant is jam packed, the food is GOOD. We made reservations ahead of time but if we didn't, I doubt we'd be able to find a seat quickly. We had the tasting menu, which was the perfect amount of dishes. Our favs were the tuna crunch and the soup dish that came with the rib. A soup dish served last can be extremely risky but they did it, and the reward was def there! Can't wait to come back and try the regular menu. SO GOOD!

I visited here because of attracting attention through several platforms. Most of the dishes on the menu were unique, so it took longer than usual to hear the detailed menu explanation from the staff and think about what to choose.Around the time of choosing the menu to order and requesting an order, an employee approached and was informed that there was a 90-minute regulation after sitting, so after 90 minutes of reservation time, if a reservation person came, we would have to give up their seats.Immediately after we getting the 90-minute regulation explanation, the beverage staff(a tall Asian man) approached the table and explained the 90-minute meal rule guide once again, saying, "You've already spent more than 30 minutes choosing the menu to order."I didn't feel good when I heard this comment, but since it was my first time visiting the restaurant, I decided to have a good time while eating a new menu. The food I ordered was not tasty enough to meet the expectations, but it tasted above average. It took a little more than 90 minutes to finish the meal, but there was no rush to leave the table due to the enough of seats in the later hours. However, the employee(a tall Asian man) took charge of the payment and processed the calculation process with the Toast device at the table. After entering the tip, additional time was needed to receive the receipt by e-mail, but the employee said, "There is no need to leave a separate review," and tried to take the device in a hurry even though the input was not finished.Usually, I go into the restaurant's SNS account to look at the employee who received a good impression, but this time, I looked through all the restaurant's Instagram account posts because I was curious about who the employee was curtly responding to customers. It seems that he has been working at a restaurant for a long time, but I was curious if he had been working that way before. This restaurant's first visit is likely to be the last.

My experience at Falansai was second to none. The quality of ingredients are so fresh, flavors are unique, and atmosphere is a vibe. Our waitress Zara was knowledgeable and a delight. I cannot wait to come back (all the way from Jersey)

Food was super delicious. All super flavorful in a good way and definitely my type of food. The thought put into this menu is above and beyond. Service was awesome, the waiter really knew what he was talking about and was very attentive to what we needed at all times. The space is absolutely gorgeous, cute, and unique! I can see so much personality put into it and that shows more care than any expensive decor.

Creative fusion but not much Vietnamese influence Top fav to least: - Squash dumpling in pho broth (unique) - Red seafood curry - (flavorful and delicious) - confit duck neck (flavorful but not much meat) - bun thit nuong (delicious and authentic but expensive) - tuna crunch (good but nothing extraordinary)
