I’ve been getting delivery from Faun for years but decided to dine in this time. As always, the food was delicious, beautifully presented and made with fresh ingredients. The patio is beautiful and comfortable, even during colder days thanks to the heaters generously distributed throughout. The service was balanced and attentive, paying close attention to the flow of the meal and directing the kitchen accordingly.

Dined here early June, worst experience ever. Below average food. My server was racist, and he made sure that I felt unwelcomed.

The cavatelli pasta with mussels and chanterelles was incredible, one of the best pasta dishes I’ve ever had. Great service, too.
The atmosphere when you enter is really nice and warm, but very full and crowded. The food was extremely disappointing, even if it was half the price. The croquette was milky and flavorless, pouring out as soon as you bite into it. The pasta was also a flavorless set— we got the caccio and while the noodle was uniquely shaped it was sadly a flop and was Overcooked. We also got the cavatelli, both sauces were soupy and flavorless. The mussels were the only redeeming part of the cavatelli. The fish (skape) was mushy, covered and sitting in a bland weak excuse for a butter sauce.
Save your money. Don’t go here.

The cacio e pepe was delicious and although the portion looks small, it was perfect. The backyard seating was so cute, especially with the string lights once the sun began to set. I absolutely recommend it!

The food was extraordinary. We were there for a special event in the exceedingly charming back garden.

I seldom write reviews. However, after witnessing the most grotesque dish at Faun today it would be a crime not to report. My wife and I got lunch and the service took 20 minutes to even greet us or ask if we wanted something to drink. My wife and I are adventurous with food and when we read stuffed Italian sausage Chicken wings I’m not sure what I expected but I was curious. The server said it was like nothing he’s ever had before so we thought “new things are good”. Upon the arrival of these wings I kid you not just the mere sight made me gag. I wish I had taken a picture but I quickly put a napkin on them and covered them up the sight felt something out of a scary movie or fear factor it was so grotesque and vile looking.
They stuffed Italian sausage into the skin of a chicken wing and formed a Frankenstein atrocity. I felt really gaslit, someone should have warned us how beastly this dish looked. We eat with our eyes and this was by far an a visual assault. My wife was brave to try it and I’m pretty sure she gagged.
Please don’t order the grotesque chicken wings.

We first experienced FAUN in 2022 to celebrate a milestone with friends and had such a wonderful time, the food was delicious! We wanted another special evening sharing news with my father-in-law and knew that I had to bring him to FAUN. I raved about the restaurant being so good. I was not prepared for the disappointment. The food was lackluster at best. We ordered the following:
Cacio e Pepe - was extremely watery/oily, and the flavor was nonexistent, highly disappointed I couldnt finish it. I know the waitress noticed right away how bothered I was by the dish. I couldn't hide it. Let the photo speak for itself.
Pappardelle - husband said it was terrible and rated it 4 out of 10. This dish was very bland considering the beef.
Whole Skate wing - our father-in-law's dish was the only favorable and ever-so-tasty.
As for their wine sommelier - I was a bit shocked at his appearance he came out dressed in shorts and a t-shirt looking like he just got back from walking his dog. I expected a bit more class for dinner vibes.
Overall I would never recommend this restaurant anymore...such a letdown.

Faun NYC has long been a neighborhood gem in Brooklyn, consistently providing a warm and inviting atmosphere that makes it a staple in the community. As some have acknowledged in their recent posts, the restaurant has welcomed a new chef, whose innovative approach and dedication to quality are driving significant positive changes.
The new chef at Faun brings a fresh perspective while maintaining the restaurant’s core values. This balance has resulted in a menu that is both consistent and progressively refined. You can still enjoy their beloved classics, but with enhanced flavors and modern twists that reflect the chef’s forward-thinking culinary philosophy.
The staff and owner exude genuine warmth and knowledge, ensuring that every visit feels special and memorable. I brought my entire family for a special birthday celebration and it truly felt like home cooking (at the next level) and we were welcomed like family.
Notably, the ambiance at Faun is as inviting as ever, with the patio being a standout feature (in all seasons). It offers a charming and relaxed setting - perfect for enjoying a meal al fresco. It really added to our dining experience. I highly recommend this restaurant for any occasion.

I second all the Dylan had to say. It was a neighborhood restaurant that I would go back to with friends because it was always so good, but last Sunday it was a big disappointment. I did a review on Resy, as they prompted me to do one, but I see that with that service now you cannot see what people say (I guess it just goes to the restaurant), which is unfortunate, so I'll try and summarize what I said there, here. The big problem was the food, and now I understand why as I gather there was a change in the Chef. We were a party of five and what was confusing from the start was that the server was describing it as a sharing menu, but the prices indicated your typical appetizer and entree sizes, and when we tried to clarify things the server then said that yes, we could go that route too. In the end we ordered apps to share and different entrees for each of us. For the apps they were good and in particular, the focaccia bread. But the entrees were a big disappointment for all of us. None were particularly good and they were tiny, and so I'm not sure how you could really share any of them. One was sent back in fact, the lamb dish, because it was primarily fat. It was explained that fat adds favor, which all of us at the table understand and appreciate, but a little meat helps too. I really hope things turn around soon as it is great space with a nice garden, but I will be looking for some favorable review updates before I think to return.

Kinda a bummer. Ravioli is 21 for 3 raviolis and were fine. The cavatelli is 1. not cavatelli and 2. is low flavor. Focaccia was great, as were the potato croquette. Drinks are good but nowadays cost 16 to 18 dollars apiece. Nice space.

This was our absolute favorite restaurant in the neighborhood. We enthusiastically recommended it to multiple friends and family. Unfortunately, since they changed chefs, the quality has taken a real nosedive. The food doesn’t cohere and is plated busily. We used to drool over the hamachi crudo, which would melt in your mouth. Tonight, it was thick cut and clunky. We waited nearly an hour for an undercooked, mealy skate wing. I truly hope they reconsider the direction of the food. After two different seasonal menus with the new chef, we aren’t excited to return. It’s a shame because the space is gorgeous and the staff are very kind and personable.
