GERTIE Reviews
Excellent food and bloody Mary’s - great staff and bright and airy decor. Perfect brunch and dinner spot!
So happy to see Gertie open up in this part of Brooklyn. I’ve loved the WB location and the one here does not disappoint. Great bagels, great matzo ball soup, and great backyard atmosphere, serving as a lil oasis tucked away behind the hustle and bustle on Vanderbilt. Highly recommend!
Feels like Bedford Ave pre 2008 in the best way

Gertie is a fantastic new delicatessen and a great addition to the neighborhood. The food and beverage are considered the best in the city. The menu features delicious items like an Egg and Cheese, a Turkey Club sandwich, and matzo ball soup, which some call the best they've ever eaten. The house smoked salmon on a house made bagel is perfection, and the bagels and sandwiches are consistently great. Other highlights include the chicken schnitzel sandwich on challah toast, pastrami on rye, babka, corn muffins, and some of the best latkes.
The space is beautiful, featuring a familiar colorful mural with bright new touches and a very pretty back patio for outdoor eating. The staff is welcoming, kind, and caffeinated, often handing out little goodies to those waiting. The line out the door is worth the wait, as the experience is rooted in heart, heritage, and hospitality. It is a place that delivers comfort and craftsmanship, feeling both nostalgic and new. Customers highly recommend Gertie and look forward to making it a regular part of their rotation.
