I wasn't expecting to enjoy the food as much as I did. It was HOT, FRESH and TASTY ??? . It was raining and I didn't want to cook or spend too much. I spotted two Chinese spots, I chose Halal Express because the outside of the building was clean, windows to the door. It matters. The next door Chinese spot was fitted with a tinted foggy window with scratches and all the looks of classic NY Chinese. I opted out. Stepped into HE and the guy behind the counter was pleasant and assisted me quickly. I purchased the 4pc chicken and fries. Thankfully the food was good because it can be a disappointment if a new food spot sucked when you're hungry. Btw I'm picky about my fries and these were almost McDonald's look for more fries at the bottom of the bag type fries. You decide. Lmk. Enjoy.

The food is ALWAYS AMAZING! The staff and owner are helpful and kindhearted. My husband and I have always been treated with respect as black customers. We visit quite frequently and will continue to do so!
When I come into this store I had high hopes because all my friends said their food is good but my friends are all Bengali and I am a white man in my 30s, when I came into this store I ordered their broccoli chicken and fried rice, the food was okay but it was not that good, the rice was little brunt and it did not taste good at all. I came alone and the restaurant was kind of busy because I went their lunch time. I have a Bengali wife and I am able to speak and understand Bengali and not everyone knows that. In this restaurant it is owned and served by Bengali guys and they are sweet to you when talking English but once you turn around they will start talking in Bengali, and ooh man when I tell you this you won't believe me but these guys started TALKING SO BAD ABOUT ME in Bengali thinking I don't understand. I fully understood what they were saying and I am really disappointed. I have not ever talked to them beside when ordering, never spoken to them in a bad manner and they treat me with this behavior. This is unacceptable. They were being really mean with it when talking about me behind my back. I advise you to NOT go to this restaurant if you don't want to be talked bad about. 1 star experience. Never going again.
