We were seated immediately on a Sunday for brunch around 130p. Food took a little while, but was beautifully presented. Ordered both the black sesame french toast and the ube pancakes. The flavors were extremely subtle. Would have liked more black sesame flavor and stronger ube flavor. The combination of the fruit toppings on both the dishes may have overwhelmed the black sesame and the ube flavors. Overall, good service.

Monanch Izakaya truly is a hidden gem in Brooklyn. They have two floors, and the decor is so unique it feels like you are somewhere else. It is definitely a photo spot, and they even have an outdoor spot. They offer 2 unique menu options, but a key issue is that their meals feel more like an appetizer. Our bill was pricey for appetizer size for a family of 4.
Regarding service, the waitress provided the basic needs and she did check up on you. Overall, I would recommend here.

What a cute spot. Stopped by here after a viewing at Nitehawk with my date. Karla was so friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. Definitely a pro at what she does and absolutely elevated our experience here. We shared the chicken karaage which came with a yummy sauce and the pork belly bao buns which were so fluffy & yummy. The interior is super cute & cozy too. Shouting out Karla again just because she was so awesome!!

Mmm! I was pleasantly surprised by the tastes and textures of this place. I was walking by and looked at the menu but wasn't sure if there was anything I actually wanted... I'm glad we decided to give it a try in the end! I got the hangry panda and my partner got the shitake fried rice. Dang, both were a burst of flavor. I love that they also make their own in house breads. I am looking forward to coming again to try their other items!

We had dinner at Monarch Izakaya recently, and it was one of those rare meals where every dish felt like a quiet triumph. But the vegan ramen? That was something else entirely. Smoky, soulful, and layered in flavor, it delivered a depth I didn’t know plant-based ramen could reach. The noodles were cooked to absolute perfection—like they’d been hand-coached by a noodle whisperer. If comfort had a signature dish, this would be it.
Really attentive staff; lovely people that have to deal with some very odd out-of-town kids who are either severely autistic or just have no manners. We had the Japanese omelette & bánh mi, which were delicious; the dim sum was tasty, enjoyed the crab rangoon and cauliflower. The quiet atmosphere made it especially nice as well as the clever decor and cozy seating.
