PEEPS KITCHEN at Scrappleland is a Korean mom & pops restaurant serving some of the best fried chicken in New York City. The chicken is always SOO FRESH, SUPER crispy, and hot because every fried chicken is made to order. Customers recommend the fried boneless chicken thigh, which comes out hot and juicy with an exceptional crunch exterior and a thin, crunchy, flaky batter. The Gang Jeong chicken is tender and crispy with a delicious coating, and the Peeps gang jeong chicken bites are extremely flavorful with a sticky, sweet glazed sauce. There is also a scallion chicken (파닭) option and a sweet & spicy sauce that tastes like Korea. The extreme hot sauce is truly extreme and will burn up your life. The side dishes are great, including fried dumplings with good fillings and crunchy wrappers, and the ho tteock is a nice dessert option with soft pancake dough and sweet gooey syrupy nuts filling. The portions are very generous, and the drum itself is huge. Be prepared for a wait as orders take time. PEEPS KITCHEN is located inside an arcade next to a bar, with plenty of seatings, a roof top, and pinball machines. The owners and staffs are friendly and lovely.
