I absolutely love the food here and was pleasantly surprised. I think the calamari was some of the best I've had in my life. The coating is just the right portion-- not too "bready". It was cooked just right so it's nice and crispy. The portions are really big as well so we did a lot of sharing. The shishito peppers were BOMB as well. Everything was really fresh- I thoroughly enjoyed my salad. I'll definitely come back again as I'm interested in the pastas.

Visiting Brooklyn for first time. My son recommended The Longshoreman because my husband wanted a burger and I felt like Italian. We were both pleased! The burger and fries were perfectly cooked and packed with flavor. My Margherita pizza was just as it should be, chewy, lovely sauce and fragrant basil. I added the arugula watermelon salad which was so yummy with the feta cheese and light dressing. My son had the linguini and clams, which I tried and again was not disappointed. A fun stop at the bar while we waited gave us a chance to meet and chat with George, our bartender, and enjoy a delicious gin, grapefruit and dill cocktail called the Real Dill. If you are in the area, make a point to stop by this hidden gem in Cobble Hill ( I think). Well worth it!

We always love going to The Longshoreman for dinner. We go regularly and sit at the bar when Andrew is working. He makes the best and most creative cocktails. The food and service are always amazing.

Our family of six had such a great evening out at the Longshoreman. The food was fantastic and the service even better. Our server, Emily was a delight … knowledgeable and friendly, and the service was really quick given that the place was packed that night!! Lovely atmosphere and great drinks too!

Overall fantastic experience. The ambience is perfect for a night out with family/friends. The ricotta starter and steak entree (recommended by our very helpful waitress Emily) were to die for!

I've been to this restaurant multiple times now with family and friends - consistently great food and amazing service! The Ricotta, Brussel Sprouts and fries are must haves. The drinks are also great. We have been served most times by Emilie and Andrew who always offer us great recommendations, and are just wonderful every time!! We will be back again and again.

I had the duck and lentils here--I liked the plum sauce which had some umami flavor, and the fatty crispy bits, but the duck breast meat itself was dense and too chewy and had pieces I had to spit out. Perhaps it should have been tenderized. I may try the other dishes. I liked the service and overall decor.

We've loved this spot since practically the day it opened, and it's recently become our regular stop for Sunday dinner. The food is delicious, and we've had just about everything on the menu. Cocktail menu and wine list cover all the basics with lots of modern twists and newer favorites as well. Service has always been welcoming and personal, even with our two-year-old daughter in tow. (The kid's pasta with garlic and oil might be the best thing they serve, and they have crayons!) There's usually a pasta or pizza special in addition to the three options for each that are on the menu, and they've been more than willing to accommodate special requests for pizza toppings, especially during off hours.

My friend and I stumbled on this place while taking a brisk wintry walk and were looking for a place to stop for a drink and a bite. The place is has a really nice, subdued, warm vibe. We sat at the bar and had a wonderfully attentive waiter, who watched me poring through the menu with my dairy and gluten allergies and informed me that they can do gluten-free pasta. So I started off with the AMAZING Brussel sprouts (I mean, like meltinyourmouth candy. So utterly delicious) and then a totally delicious squid-ink/ seafood pasta. Just the right serving size, and every bite was scrumptious. I also had a couple of bites of my friends tuna tartar which was also yummy. I couldn't have any of the deserts bc of allergens, but the waiter Kindly offered each of us a bourbon-soaked cherry as a dessert, on the house. A really nice '*cherry on the top' of the truly excellent service and food. (*sorry -couldn't resist the bad pun lol!) I don't really do reviews that much, but had to give this place a shout. I will most definitely be coming back. Oh -- and I'm not really a drinker, but I also had a taste of my friend's totally delicious-smooth-as-silk vermouth (which she -- a more seasoned drinker -- acknowledged was exceptional!) -- "Antica Formula." So something else to try?

I wish I could eat here every night. The pastas are immaculate! All freshly made and incredibly creative. Not only is the blended dough beautiful to look at, but it also tastes delicious. You can feel the time and care that the staff put into making guests feel at home. Servers are attentive and friendly. Overall, a lovely restaurant and I would recommend to everyone I know. A foodie’s dream!

Went here for a special occasion and the ambiance was very nice. Service and wait time was amazing and we were attended at a reasonable time. Drinks, food and dessert were all really great in terms of portion size and taste. Would come here again.

Didn’t really have the best experience. Food was good but not worth the price. Would have been fine hadn’t they basically kicked us out after about 1hr and 15 minutes. No time for a second drink or even coffee and desert. People seated before us were allowed to stay after us. Almost half a grand later for 5 people and we weren’t treated the way we should have.

Overall, the restaurant has a nice vibe. Unfortunately, on Saturday evening, they had a fruit fly infestation. Fruit flies were on the wall and flying around our heads. These flies were large, so they are eating well. Appetizers: Ricotta Della Casa - outstanding flavors and delicious. The only downside, not enough bread is served with Ricotta spread so you need to order additional bread ($3 up charge) to finish the spread Arancini - 3 Italian rice balls . Please avoid. The flavor was lacking, and the hot honey was sparingly used on the coating. Squash Skillet - potential to be excellent. The squash was way undercooked. 4 slices of squash that had a decent flavor. The skin should have been removed before it was served in the hot skillet. Dinner: The lightly breaded Chicken with the Calabrian chili sauce was perfectly cooked and delicious. The Hangar steak was a little undercooked but had a delicious flavor with the mushrooms. The mashed potatoes were a little bland. The Agnolotti was delicious and perfectly prepared. Overall, I would recommend going to the Longshoreman once they exterminate the fruit flies.

Amazing Food! From the appetizer to dessert, everything was on point! The staff was super friendly and attentive. Wednesday is wine-day, so every bottle is half price. (and please taste the chocolate brownie.... it's heavenly!)
