This place is a less known gem that is starting to be more recognized. The food is unbelievable, the goat, the brown stew chicken, the oxtails… everything is delicious, flavorful and well balanced with spices and heat. A true representation of traditional Jamaican food at its best. We got takeout but the restaurant itself is very clean, well lit and comfortable.
My new favorite Carribean restaurant. I came in not knowing what to expect. I had visited 2 other places prior to coming to Genesis Rising. Both times trying their curry goat.So I ordered the Curry Goat, rice n peas, cabbage topped with some plantain.I have to be honest and mention the other places weren't bad.But at Genesis Rising, the meat was flavored perfectly, the cabbage, with the perfect texture, the rice n peas were light and fluffy and the peas (beans) done really well,...read full review

The first real Jamaican food in Buffalo. I tried Dr Bird which was disgusting, if fact I threw it out. I tried the other one by 7/11 which was average at best. We won’t even talk about the other ones. Genesis raising is the best Jamaica food I’ve had in Buffalo. The flavor, portions and staff are really good. One suggestion if I may would be to have more vegetarian option, preferably curried options.
