“Woodlawn” is a staple for the city of Buffalo and Hamburg beach goers. Summers are awesome with a beach house for changing, a mini store for some necessities, an outdoor bar and restaurant area and a tiki bar down at the beach. In the Winter they host the Polar Plunge. Known for beautiful sunsets and lots of beach glass to collect.
Made a reservation to eat there. Once we got there, there was no hostess or any direction where to go. I went to the bar and had to wait over 5 min for someone to noticed I was there and proceeded to tell them I had a reservation. We were sat in a poor lit area. We ordered our food which was all you can eat crab and I ordered sweet potato fries as an appetizer and a steak sandwich. It tolls us over an hour to get our food. The sweet potato fries were cold. Also the steak sandwich is suppose to come with chips and they instead substituted that with the sweet potato fries. After a while they brought out French fries for the side of the all you can eat crab. When I got my bill it turns out they charged me for the sweet potato fries as an appetizer ($7) instead of the substitute up charge. The service was very poor. I just wanted to leave. I would not recommend going there unless you want to wait over an hour for some ‘okay’ food.
The best
Reservations at 8pm. No service for 20 minutes once seated. Came for all you can eat crab legs, served a tray with raw potatoes. Absolutely no light in the area we were sitting in. Could not see what we were eating. $4 for a can of bud light. $7 mixed drinks with probably a half of a shot in it. Terrible
The staff is friendly. Sometimes the “bouncer” will prevent men from going in, while females easily get in free.
Good service, fair prices.
So I made a fun comment on their fb page about them shipping in people from jersey shore. Found out they scrub their site hard. Lmao. Any good business welcomes some humor or even critique to attempt to improve. Not here. I'll have more commentary after work happy hour.
If it was possible to give it less than one star I would. Charged $10 person to get in. If you put your feet in the water, security ran over and told you to get out. They said if you want to go in the water, go on the public side. You’re not allowed to pour the drinks you buy from their bar into a Yeti to keep them cold. This was a 5 star beach bar when it was privately run. Once Hamburg took over it went quickly downhill. On either free side people were having a great time but inside the paid area it honestly looked depressing. Will never be back and that seemed to be their goal with the patrons there.
Dont let the advertisements fool you. This place does not rent cabanas for people wanting to plan events. I've sent them multiple messages, emails and phone calls. They give you the run around and then never get back to you. This place is poorly ran. A complete joke.
