We went to lovely Chatham for the last day of the film festival and ended the day with dinner at the Blue Plate. Exquisite. Waitstaff were gracious and attentive. We had calamari and a mango salad for appetizers. My husband had the porkchop and I got the salmon as entrees. It was such a treat! Highly recommend.
I am upset with this restaurant. It used to be my favorite. Now, apparently, there is a new owner and management. No bread is served, chicken is nothing to write home about. Before, their chicken was high quality, really amazing and superior. Appetizers were nice, but also serving 4 minuscular ribs for $16 is not good. Everything is worse and more expensive. Wines are also not great. It used to be a truly amazing place. Not any more. Tres leches was very bad. Water for tea - not...
My most recent experience at Blue Plate was getting a burger, which arrived medium rare. Apparently someone else at my table wanted rare, but their burger arrived with no pink at all. After explicitly requesting, it's got to be pink. The kitchen staff is all pretty new, and although they are working hard, they aren't listening to customer feedback that much. The management is doing great, and the servers are very sweet and thoughtful. Kitchen crew needs to get a clue....
