“We've been to Canteen twice (so far) and both dinners were fantastic! The selection of cocktails is creative and explores the wonders of mixology beyond the standard cocktail options. The wine list thoughtfully curated. I was particularly happy to find a rather unusual Müller-Thurgau from Italy's Alto-Adige region as a by-the-glass option. What about the food? Well, that is absolutely remarkable, too: the creativity at Canteen continues seamlessly from glass to plate. That applied to the Burger, the Bouillabaisse, the pork chop, the duck breast, the salmon and the apple galette. Every single dish we had was simply great! I found the service to be particularly friendly and attentive. I am surprised by some of the comments in other reviews. My wife, my son and I found the overall atmosphere at Canteen on both nights very pleasant to say the least and left both times in a cheerful mood. What else can we ask for?”

“Absolutely love going to Dan's Diner. Nothing can beat a cozy breakfast in a renovated O'Mahony diner car. I've had nothing but fantastic food from them and the staff is always friendly and happy to help.”

“Came here to meet a friend on a Sunday afternoon and although it was very busy we were promptly seated. We were excited to discover several dark beers on the menu including my new favorite vanilla porter (can't wait to get another growler of that!). It was our first time bringing our son and I was thrilled that there were 2 vegetarian kids meal options! He LOVED the mac and cheese. I had the fish fry which was crispy and light (not greasy). Prices are very reasonable and the food was delicious and there were a few other menu items I'm looking forward to trying on our next visit!”

“Parking is tough especially on 2 for Tuesday. 2 pizza's for the price of one only on Tuesdays. Best pizza in Chatham. I buy extra just to eat a day or so for lunch at work. Food great, service is fast and prices are fair. Ambiance needs a fresh update. Other wise friendly employees.”

“Not the best curb appeal but worth going in. Great value snd good food. The extensive menu can be a worry and we both ordered off the specials as we like too. He had the butternut squash soup and I for the fried artichokes. Entrees we're trout and mushroom risotto. All tasted fresh and delicious. Thanks.”

“I throughout enjoyed my dinner here tonight. The service was very accommodating, quick, and precise. The food was phenomenal. We had a pasta and steak dish and it was delightful and cooked just as we like it. I loved the ambiance of the dining room. I would definitely recommend coming here!”

“Food was so so good. There cream puffs are my favorite, I wake up in the middle of the night craving their cream puffs. Their coffee is the best around here, There lattes especially. they’re creamy and the foam was so perfectly steamed. The service was amazing. The cashier, Grace, was really nice and so cool. They had the best music as well. All in all was really such an amazing experience, and would highly recommend!!”

“Incredibly friendly! It felt like coming over to a friends house for food. Giselle warmed our hand pies up for us and made hot cocoa from scratch while we waited. Loved the whole experience (and the apple hand pies were delicious!)”

“Cold, rainy March night in Chatham, NY. We felt the need to get out for dessert. The People's Pub has the (gas) fireplace and the working kitchen welcoming us for carrot cake with rum cream. Neighbors are at the bar,". Glad we stepped out.”

“Super stylish and elegant SoHo-worthy dining room in tiny Kinderhook, NY. Sort of Asian fusion cooking, very fresh vegetables and imaginative small plates to share. Cauliflower was a favorite, Jasmine rice too. Can get noisy as the night wears on!”

“We got married at Vanderbilt Lakeside in August 2023 and had a wonderful experience working with Henrietta and Matt after stumbling upon the venue on Airbnb. It was meant to be because we later figured out that we had frequented Henrietta’s bar, Night of Joy, in Brooklyn when we first started dating and her amazing aesthetic really comes through. We had our closest friends stay with us at the house for the weekend and hosted 100 guests.The look and feel of the space is uniquely chic and quirky all at once with beautiful modern and vintage accents. It's quite whimsical which makes for awesome wedding photos - we didn’t need any additional decor, except for flowers. The backyard/deck space and lakeside views were exquisite in late summer sunshine. The day of our wedding the rain held out for us and we were able to have our ceremony on the lawn, facing the lake and had dinner under a tent on the deck with additional seating in the adjacent room with the sliding doors fully open, and dancing in the bar room under the disco ball. The lawn games and pool table added to the summery and fun atmosphere.Henrietta was very clear in her communication, very responsive, patient throughout our planning process from beginning to end, and offered recommendations for other vendors and services, which were really helpful to us. Henrietta and Matt were also super helpful and flexible in assisting us with our food and beverage selections, answering our many many questions, and providing staff (who were all friendly and professional) when needed. All of the food was truly excellent and everything was served on time. The grilled cheese sandwiches and handcut fries we had as afterparty snacks were a massive hit. Henrietta was also around and available to assist throughout our wedding weekend, which we really appreciated and she communicated well with all of our vendors.We’re so grateful that we found Vanderbilt Lakeside and will forever cherish the memories of our wedding there. We highly recommend it!”

Their farm-fresh offerings are locally sourced & community-driven (you can literally SEE the farm from your table!). “I was looking for a coffee-ish shop with good food and stumbled upon Quinnie’s. It’s a little bit outside of Hudson but worth it to ditch the overwhelming crowds on Warren Street. The food was delicious, counter service is always a plus and they have delicious coffee. “I need to start by saying, I can not possibly express how thrilled and pleased we were with our decision to have our reception at S&S Brewery. We didn't pay anything for decorations, because the ambiance was everything we wanted. The quiet, peaceful, naturally beautiful atmosphere does all of the work FOR FREE. Very spacious, tons of seating, all rustic feel. Don't be shy to show up for an in-person view; you will not be disappointed! The price of the venue is very reasonable and affordable. The venue does not have a kitchen, but food trucks are no strangers to the brewery. And quite possibly my favorite part: the staff. It is VERY clear this is a family run establishment, blood related or not, everyone is family. My husband and I even made a comment that WE felt like their family! Everything turned out better than expected, and we know that is majorly due to S&S Brewery. If you're reading this review, we would absolutely recommend S&S Farm Brewery for your venue needs. FIFTY STARS!”

“Food always consists of plentiful portions served relatively fast. Great for families with kids. Service is pleasant...and there are great views of the Kinderhook creek from the back section. Can be a little noisy at prime meal times when it's crowded- hard on hearing aids...or those with hearing issues. (Off times are much quieter)”

I don’t normally leave reviews but I feel compelled as the food was great, in large portions, and the pizza is something that I have not stopped thinking about. The waitress was incredibly friendly too and it added to the loving ambiance that comes the feeling of a family owned restaurant. It’s nice to see that a family business has been open for as long as it has! The salad’s were fresh, and thankfully they sell the dressing by the bottle because I kept wanting more. The decor could use some updating. The Grecian painting on the walls looks like it’s been there since the 80’s.”

“My pictures don’t do the justice they should. This was a fantastic meal. Local 111 has a small menu and everything is a winner. My wife and I shared the chicories salad and the croquetas. Then I had the fish of the day, which was trout, and she had the chicken which our waiter, Mariusz, said was his favorite. We are definitely coming back here!”

“One of my favorite places to go out. Excellent food, menu & service. Updating March 2024; I miss the guitar player, Steve. The food, menu & service all still excellent, although this Saturday night when we were seated the dining room was full, everyone was finishing their meals and it was noisy. But within 15 20 minutes 2 tables left & it instantly quieted down and the cozy ambiance was back. Have to admit, sometimes we've been that noisy group! It's all good!”
