“My pictures don’t do the justice they should. This was a fantastic meal. Local 111 has a small menu and everything is a winner. My wife and I shared the chicories salad and the croquetas. Then I had the fish of the day, which was trout, and she had the chicken which our waiter, Mariusz, said was his favorite. We are definitely coming back here!”
“Only have been here a handful of times but each time I couldn't complain. Philmont has needed something like this for a long time! Growing up there meant no fresh veggies/produce/ meat in town so it's nice to see a place like this. Many organic and local options :) there's a food truck outside as well”
“Weary traveler looking for some good pizza. This pizza restaurant was A+. I dined in and service was great. I ordered 2 slices, pepperoni and sausage. Quality of the ingredients was definitely on the plus side. I struggled to finish the rwo incredibly topped slices. It was hard to stop eating but it was so good. Nice crispy and tasty crust with more than adequate toppings. Would highly recommend.”
“On a Sunday afternoon during our weekend stay in Hudson we ware lucky enough to get a table here and what a treat that was!We got some appetisers and threes different mains for us to try. For a moment it felt like we are in Tuscany and not in Hudson.A definite recommend! It may be our favourite Gem!!!”
“You have to visit this special place! They put a lot of thoughts into making each dish. The cafe is bustling for Sunday brunch. Everyone was very friendly and food came out quick. If you’re feeling adventurous their specials include some bold dishes! I truly love this place and it made Hudson such a cool town too. I prefer this restaurant to lots of Michelins. This is where you get food with a soul.We especially enjoyed the pig foot rice (it’s boneless and you don’t really see the shape of the pig foot) and stuffed duck neck (it was nothing like what we imagined; it’s kind of like a sausage. The dish has chestnut which is very special!!)Can’t wait to go back and try more dishes!!”
“Don't be fooled... Although the "VV" designation on the menu means that the dish is vegan, there are many more things on the menu that can be veganized! Tamale? ✅ Loaded fries? ✅. Food is quite delicious! Staff is really nice but the place can get overloaded and a touch slow at peak times.”
“I was away for the weekend with my wife in the area. I had heard so much about this place so I decided to give it a try. I assume the person that took my order was the owner and he was very friendly and pleasant. My sandwiches were made fairly quickly and I brought them back to where I was staying. We had two bacon, egg and cheese sandwiches on a bagel and they were wonderful and the coffee was delicious as well.”
“We've been to Canteen twice (so far) and both dinners were fantastic! The selection of cocktails is creative and explores the wonders of mixology beyond the standard cocktail options. The wine list thoughtfully curated. I was particularly happy to find a rather unusual Müller-Thurgau from Italy's Alto-Adige region as a by-the-glass option. What about the food? Well, that is absolutely remarkable, too: the creativity at Canteen continues seamlessly from glass to plate. That applied to the Burger, the Bouillabaisse, the pork chop, the duck breast, the salmon and the apple galette. Every single dish we had was simply great! I found the service to be particularly friendly and attentive. I am surprised by some of the comments in other reviews. My wife, my son and I found the overall atmosphere at Canteen on both nights very pleasant to say the least and left both times in a cheerful mood. What else can we ask for?”
“We got married at Vanderbilt Lakeside in August 2023 and had a wonderful experience working with Henrietta and Matt after stumbling upon the venue on Airbnb. It was meant to be because we later figured out that we had frequented Henrietta’s bar, Night of Joy, in Brooklyn when we first started dating and her amazing aesthetic really comes through. We had our closest friends stay with us at the house for the weekend and hosted 100 guests. The look and feel of the space is uniquely chic and quirky all at once with beautiful modern and vintage accents. It's quite whimsical which makes for awesome wedding photos - we didn’t need any additional decor, except for flowers. The backyard/deck space and lakeside views were exquisite in late summer sunshine. The day of our wedding the rain held out for us and we were able to have our ceremony on the lawn, facing the lake and had dinner under a tent on the deck with additional seating in the adjacent room with the sliding doors fully open, and dancing in the bar room under the disco ball. The lawn games and pool table added to the summery and fun atmosphere.Henrietta was very clear in her communication, very responsive, patient throughout our planning process from beginning to end, and offered recommendations for other vendors and services, which were really helpful to us. Henrietta and Matt were also super helpful and flexible in assisting us with our food and beverage selections, answering our many many questions, and providing staff (who were all friendly and professional) when needed. All of the food was truly excellent and everything was served on time. The grilled cheese sandwiches and handcut fries we had as afterparty snacks were a massive hit. Henrietta was also around and available to assist throughout our wedding weekend, which we really appreciated and she communicated well with all of our vendors. We’re so grateful that we found Vanderbilt Lakeside and will forever cherish the memories of our wedding there. We highly recommend it!”
“They're doing the lord's work here. Ollie's in Kingston/Rosendale is the only other pizza shop in the HV that comes close. TV-VCR combo in the dining area completes the vibe check.”
“Del’s is THE best quick stop for something fast, casual, economical, delicious & FUN! Their farm-fresh offerings are locally sourced & community-driven (you can literally SEE the farm from your table!). Their Bees Knees honey lavender milkshake with gin is my favorite summer after-work treat - non-alcoholic ice cream options also available for the younger family members, of course.”
“Recommended by Kerri at Owls Hoot Barn (my Airbnb host who I also recommend!). Definitely worth going to check out if you’re up here — sandwich was amazing and Mate Latte with oat was great too. The servers and mission of the deli puts a cherry on top of the cozy experience going in. Definitely recommend if you’re in or out of town for breakfast or lunch.”
“Relaxing lowkey spot with some major grandma vibes. Classic American breakfast food done right. Fluffy ENORMOUS pancakes, perfect home fries, and tasty crispy bacon. Service was quick and the owners are lovely. Don't be surprised if you have to wait up to 10 minutes to be seated, it's small and clearly word has gotten out about this gem. Highly recommend!”
“This review is long overdue. Bar Bene is our favorite spot to come to when we are in Hudson. They have a beautiful backyard firepit and a great wine/charcuterie menu, which combined make the perfect relaxing evening. The owner and employees are all so friendly and warm. What a fabulous place!”
“Absolutely love going to Dan's Diner. Nothing can beat a cozy breakfast in a renovated O'Mahony diner car. I've had nothing but fantastic food from them and the staff is always friendly and happy to help.”
“I was looking for a coffee-ish shop with good food and stumbled upon Quinnie’s. It’s a little bit outside of Hudson but worth it to ditch the overwhelming crowds on Warren Street. The food was delicious, counter service is always a plus and they have delicious coffee. It’s a great place to hang out in the nicer weather too because they have a little patio area AND they sell cocktails!!Dietary restrictions: Vegetarian optionsKid-friendliness: Outside area for kids not a lot of food options unless your kid’s bougieWheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair ramp”
“Small town Mexican flavor .. complete with music ... Sandi is super attentive ... They are the only eatery open Mondays in this town ... No wonder they were soooo busy ! To their SUCCESS ?”
“Met friends for breakfast, fantastic breakfast sandwich (out of avocado :/) but the GF waffle was amazing for my friends with celiac. Great coffee, attentive staff, and the atmosphere is adorable! Bought fresh flowers as we were leaving, highly recommend for breakfast/brunch!”
“Let me tell you—if you have the opportunity to mosey your way into Hudson, check this place OUT! Honestly, this place could’ve served me dog food and I wouldn’t have cared because Kat the waitress made it the best meal I’ve had in years. I’ve never had a better waitress. So accommodating, so fun, and absolutely hysterical. I will 1000% come back if Kat is here—thank you so much!!!!”
“Their veggie rice bowl was the perfect lunch, and I really appreciate all the fun (and gluten free) condiment options to customize your meal! The spicy pickled garlic and house-made kimchi are sooooo good. I’ll definitely be coming back!!”
“Amazing place, very authentic food, my family and I were very impressed with food, service and hospitality. Highly recommend. Chicken quesadillas and the heavy soup (pozole) out of this world.”
“My fiancée and I just arrived tonight from the city we were starving. Boy, were we glad that we picked this place for dinner while en route via amtrak. We had the Wonton Nacho, State Grill Burger and the Truffle Shuffle Burger. All of it was delicious and our server was so sweet and welcoming, she made us forget that we were anywhere near NYC but closer to a small town kind of hospitality and vibe. We would definitely come back!”
“Been going for years and the food has always been excepional and consistant. After they expanded, service seemed to be a challenge, but in my last 2 visits, has been exceptionalVegetarian options: many dishes have multiple choice proteins and many vege dishes anywayKid-friendliness: unfussy crowdWheelchair accessibility: Garden seating is accessable through side gate and entry to indoor dining from there is level. Accessible large bathrooms”
“This place is the BOMB! The mojo of the energy is incredible from the moment you walk in. Food is fantastic, always enough for two meals and the smoothies are definitely addicting. We go every chance we can.”
“Micro brewery inside of a well-designed and renovated train depot. Super tasty beers and incredibly friendly staff.Wife and I had the NEIPA and the Kolsch and the beers were some of the best we had in town. The food truck outside is fantastic. A must stop when visiting Hudson for the weekend.”
“Came here to meet a friend on a Sunday afternoon and although it was very busy we were promptly seated. We were excited to discover several dark beers on the menu including my new favorite vanilla porter (can't wait to get another growler of that!). It was our first time bringing our son and I was thrilled that there were 2 vegetarian kids meal options! He LOVED the mac and cheese. I had the fish fry which was crispy and light (not greasy). Prices are very reasonable and the food was delicious and there were a few other menu items I'm looking forward to trying on our next visit!”
“Cutest cafe in town!! Was visiting town for the weekend and came here for breakfast. Homemade bagels, unique breakfast options, gluten & vegan friendly!! The staff are super friendly and it's a small business. Books, coffee, and a bar, what else do you need in life!? Looking forward to coming back to check out the bar in the evening.Vegetarian options: Vegan/vegetarian meat alternatives, customize & remove meat, specific vegan option on menuDietary restrictions: Vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free options!”
“Great Jamaican Food!!! This hidden gem in Hudson/Greenport is the place to go for authentic Jamaican dishes. The owners, Randy and Anne are delightful and really care about the quality of the food they serve. I've had every dish on their menu and each one has been delicious. Portions are generous with both lunch and dinner sizes at reasonable prices. My personal favorites are their traditional Jerk Chicken, Curry Goat, Curry Chicken and Oxtails. All served with rice and peas, plantains and veggies. In colder weather they offer a hearty soup with traditional Jamaican Spinner dumplings. Whenever they have a "special" dish I always give it a try and have not been disappointed. Just yesterday they offered a special Barbeque Chicken which was sweet and savory. I certainty hope this becomes a dish they offer regularly. They are open on Wednesdays and Fridays and are my go to place for take out Wednesday dinner. They serve out of a stationary food truck with plenty of onsite parking. Food is packed for take out and there are picnic tables with umbrellas if you'd like to eat there. They are located up on the hill overlooking Fairview Ave just a bit south of Bagel Thyme. Stop by, check it out. You will not be disappointed.Parking: Lots of easy parking.”
“Such a happy little accidental find on our exploration of New England. The people are friendly, the scenery is beautiful, and the hot apple cider pairs perfectly with an apple cider donut (go figure). If you’re in the area, it’s worth the stop!”
“This place has an amazing atmosphere, and Michael and Nancy are 2 caring people who are funny and have a very positive energy when you stop by. Michael and Nancy put on a dinner every sunday. Everything food wise that they make is top notch. Five ”
