Main Street Ice Cream Parlor

I recently visited The Ice Cream Parlor with my husband and had an absolutely delightful experience! The highlight of my visit was the amazing interaction with the owner, Helena. She was incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home. Her passion for her business truly shines through in every detail.

To top it off, the homemade soup was terrific! It's clear that Helena puts a lot of love and care into her recipes. I can't recommend this place enough – it's a must-visit for anyone in the area! Frank

It’s so refreshing to have a nice sit down meal and the hamburger is done to perfection. Brought the grandchildren and the kid menu has a great selection. Boys got the chicken tenders and WOW it was made from fresh chicken breast, grilled and juicy. The soup of the day was shrimp and lobster bisque and plenty of shrimp and real lobster was in it. There is also a nice of ice cream as well as candy and gifts located on one side of restaurant and upstairs.

Parking: The back lot behind restaurant fills up fast but there is plenty of street parking

Took the family there again while visiting the Adirondacks. It's a great go to lunch spot for us. Food has been good everytime we have gone. Soup is always good! Ice cream/pie options always tasty.

Great local bfast/lunch..with ice cream! Old, creaky floors, with a wonderful little shop upstairs. Food and service are very homey, welcoming. Looking forward to returning next summer.

I loved the food but I thought there should have been a bit more to it.If I had known coffee was 3.75 I would have skipped it as that's way too steep.I loved the service and the ambiance. With tip it was $18 which is too steep for oatmeal and coffee.As you can see the bottom serving portion of the bowl was not even full.

I am so very disappointed in Helena, owner of the Chestertown Ice Cream Parlor. I approached her in July regarding having her cater an event in my home for 40 people. I told her that I could be flexible with the date and piggyback on one of her larger client's event, so she should pick the date that was most convenient for her. I visited the shop 3 times in person, spoke directly to her and called at least 4 times to followup. I was assured each time that she would get back to me with a date so that I could send out invitations. If she did not want me as a client, she just should have just said so.
