“to the people commenting on the lack of ambiance...? i think it is fine. for me the music is "ambient" enough, along with the lovely wall mural, and photos showing what the food is....not to mention the collection of both holly AND "bolly"wood stars and starlets, adorning a back side wall. the dining area is always SPOTLESSLY CLEAN, and the bathroom shines. they keep the prices very reasonable, which is a HUUGE plus for me. the food is always great, fresh, and tasty, not to mention a lot healthier than the traditional american diet. staff is attentive. i never felt they "watch to see how many dishes you take", as someone suggested. they are likely making sure people get FRESH plates with every visit to the steam tables., since this is actually a restaurant/buffet health law...i have never ever, once felt like they wanted to "rush" me out. they are always very welcoming and accommodating.. “I went to Shalimar Express today. The place is great, I like their traditional welcoming Pakistani decor. Their food is amazing. We got their Shami Kabaab paratha roll, samosa chaat, fresh veggie pakora, Kashmiri chai, and mango lassi. It’s one of the best places to get Pakistani fast food in the Capital Region. Highly recommend! The Kashmiri pink chai with their veggie pakora was perfect after spending the day out in the cold. Must try!“

“I love the food here, and the people at TanDoori House are fantastic. As a vegetarian, I love having so many options on the menu to choose from, and whether you do pickup or delivery, it’s always delicious. Their chana masala is top tier, and so are their saag paneer and vegetable samosas. For dessert, definitely go for the rice pudding. I’ve ordered here several times and it never disappoints!“

“This is the best buffet money can buy and the best Indian food money can buy. I’m an omnivore but if I ever had to be vegetarian I couldn’t do it without eating spicy mint every day. I’ll frequently fill up completely on vegetarian options and be completely stuffed and satisfied. There is no other option if you are craving Indian food. The ingredients are fresh and peak of flavor. The goat is unbelievably perfect and so is every chicken dish. I love this place and you can taste their love for what they do in the food, and smell it when you walk through the door. Flavor over load!“

“I can't forget that Peshewari Naan and Bombay Aloo. Two awesome items with perfect balance of spice. They asked us the spice level we would prefer. This is something indian restaurants usually do not ask. Loved that part. Two other items were onion naan (was good) but the Mughlai chicken, something was off about it. It could be the balance of sweet or the salt was not right. I felt like I am eating a thik gravy. I believe the tea was over brewed and to balance it more milk was poured in. That's just an opinion as I know taste of tea is very subjective. Besides all of this the portion of one order was good for two. I think they are underrated by themselves. I would recommend them to change the whole seating arrangement. Also, update your restaurant name to Ahmed Restaurant. It was hard to find it.Spend $36 for two. (1. “This place has multiple things inside one location. The restaurant inside, they are not very accommodating. I've ordered for a group of people for take out and they were so strict, didn't want to give plates or anything until the owner or management got involved.

While the food was good, they overprice everything. Probably will try other places next time before coming back to this.“
