“It’s a bar in an old, dark, borderline creepy place. Gives a haunted house vibe.But their draft beer selection is usually good. I’ve had apps there before, although not this time and they were good.Bartenders always know there stuff. It’s all in all a decent bar/restaurant.“

“While driving across upstate ny I stopped in Utica for the Night. Stopped into this place for a late beer before bed and stayed late chatting with the friendly bartenders. Clearly a locals place I felt totally part of the crew as the bartender told me about the town and introduced me to folks. If I’m ever traveling through the area again I’m making the the Onion my hub. Pop in and get yourself a bulleit rye with a Haus!“

“I don’t do many reviews. But this was the 1st time I’ve ever ordered a fish fry from here, and it was a huge piece of fish with great flavor. Most places that serve a huge piece like that usually lacks flavor but not them. Nice staff as well“

“Not gonna lie, I honestly thought this place shut down several years ago. It's open now and just the same as I remember it from before COVID.

It used to be a Browns Backers bar on Sundays, but I'm not sure that's the case anymore. Either way, it's nice to have it back!“

“We stopped here for drinks a few years ago and it was the typical upstate bar-loud, little aesthetic and muffled theme. We stopped for a drink before dinner and it was a pleasant surprise. I’m big on aesthetic and service to detail. Comfortable seating, knowledgeable bartenders, proper glasses etc are important to me-they did not disappoint. They apparently remodeled a few months ago and there was intimate seating, reasonable noise level and bartenders that delivers on making good cocktails in the “proper” glass. If your over 60 and are looking to take the quests out for a drink where you can have an actual conversation this place may deliver. As an addendum, we see there at 5:30-6:40. The dynamics may change at later hours based on the demographic- time will tell. Well done on the remodel and I wish you success, we will be back if it remains an “adult” bar.“

“Went there for a staff party first time. What a cool place I didn't know about! Super cozy, dark woods. Good drinks and we only got fried foods but would love to try some of their other stuff.

Wheelchair accessibility: I only went in through and saw the back door which is NOT accessible for many. Hopefully the front door??“
