“I grew up in Elmhurst and getting skewers at this neighborhood staple as a snack was always a treat I looked forward to. Now, I’m happy that we can buy as many skewers as we dare (before we pass the threshold of waking up with a sore throat the next morning).This Chinese BBQ skewer cart is a no-frills, mom and pop food stand on the corner of Whitney Ave & Broadway by the LIRR tracks. Most of their skewers cost between $2-$3; they’re perfect for a late night eats adventure! The seasoning the sweet Chinese couple uses has just the right amount of cumin, heat, and spice. We sat at one of their 3 tables this past Monday evening and saw a steady stream of customers lining up for their grilled skewers. When all 3 tables were full, a 4th table and set of stools was set up as well. The cart is at their spot daily between 5:30pm-1:30am - you’ll find them if you see the smoke!? “Came with my boyfriend whos been here multiple times and said it was delicious, and he wasn’t wrong. We got chicken, squid, chinese sausage, ricecake, shrimp, and beef skewers that were ALL amazing. HIGHLY recommend the spicy powder on any skewer you order. I have low tolerance for spice, but it was just a small kick for a couple seconds. I will be coming here way more often, I found my favorite food spot for late night snacks.“

“My mom and I have been to this place years ago and that the food there was wonderful. Both of us ordered roast pork, congee and roast duck. The food was wonderful, and the service was wonderful. The atmosphere was that there were many people there eating, talking, ordering the food and others.“

“Took my cousin there for her birthday. She had the white peach sangria, and she loved her ribs and steak. The portions are big, so she had enough to take home. I had the steak (med well, juicy) with lobster tail (succulent and delicious) option. So good! Hubby had the pork chops. The waitress brought my cousin a birthday ice cream and sang to her. My cousin truly enjoyed her dinner.“
