Stonykill Farm Sierra Trailhead

Lovely trail that is a good way to pass the time. Easy hike that we took at a leisurely walking pace, minimal slopes except for a picnicing area. It's a beautiful place near the environmental center. We did see lots of wildlife and birds even with the rain. It does get overgrown in parts so I would emphasize dressing for the possibility of ticks. Good shade throughout most of the trail as well. I would recommend this for families too.

Pretty good for beginners (this is coming from a beginner)! Took the outer loop trail and took me 45 mins (2mi) and yes it takes you all the way in a loop. Was going to head back halfway because it seemed like the pathway was becoming too bushy and was worried it was a dead end but pushed through and made it all the way. The 1,000 acres farm have a variety of crops, livestock and trails that varies in intensity from easy to medium difficulty. Most of them are flat. They have pigs, cows, chickens, hens and sheeps. Original buildings of Barn, Field house and Maner house were built in 1942 and conserve their original shape. There are some agriculture fields with organic products.
