Once the staple of many small western Long Island towns - there were a handful between Glen Head and Sea Cliff alone - few remain.There has been a deli in this location for decades, and while ownership has changed, the menu is just as diverse and flexible as those of 50 years ago.Their Reuben is delicious. The roast beef hero, excellent. Hot soups, good coffee, a nice variety of sides (i.e. coleslaw, potato, egg salads), rolls, and pastries. Get one of their sandwiches (I recommend corned beef) and for about 12 bucks you have a fine lunch or dinner.“

“One of the Best Deli's if not the best in West Hempstead and beyond the area. The food is super fresh and made with quality ingredients. It was a great find for me. I live in Amityville but have been working in West Hempstead this past week and have had some great sandwiches from The Brother's Deli. They also have hot food and salads. “On April 19th placed an order for pick their Easter Special roasted honey turkey, honey baked ham and side dishes. The staff members helpful, polite and courteous. My Easter dinner delicious. “Hicks Deli is a top tier deli and never disappointed me since this place opened ive been advocating all family and friends to try it out. My usual order is the #4 with a hash brown on top with salt pepper and hot sauce. Coffee is always hot and the line moves quickly if busy. “Around 1970 or so, there were two delis on Jericho Turnpike, Johnny’s and Werner’s. (honorable mention to Ardito’s, which is still there and apparently still owned by the Ardito’s). I noticed Werner’s was still there. Werner must be about 100 years old by now. When I checked it out I learned Werner’s isn’t really Werner’s anymore. I read a review that said the new owners would have made Werner proud. I have to agree. A little less emphasis on salads and catering, but great selection of specialty sandwiches, excellent fresh bread and rolls, and fair prices.“

“OUTSTANDING is the best way to describe our experience today at Jim’s Deli. Great food, wonderful service, and a relaxed atmosphere….my wife and I had subs while my daughter had a breakfast sandwich. Definitely recommend and is a do-over for us next time we are up here.

There french fries are delicious I didn't need any ketchup. The quality of the food is great as well as the portions. I find the staff to be very friendly.
