I love the World Peace Cafe! It is a volunteer-run coffee shop that offers really good locally roasted espresso drinks, teas and baked goods (my favorite is the vegan peanut butter cookies!). Its located in the Temple at Kadampa Meditation Center New York, so you have either a view of the amazing Buddhist shrine and artwork or the view overlooking the pond, gardens and woodlands. All of the proceeds from what you buy in the cafe go toward the Kadampa fund that helps build more Kadampa centers and temples worldwide. They've always got fresh espresso from their espresso machine, and serve Americanos and lattes and more.
