Franzel Reviews
We had reservations and were seated next to the door on a very cold evening. When we requested to be seated at an empty table away from the door, we were informed that table was reserved. Understandable, but about 20 minutes later, a different table became available, and we requested to move. Excellent modern take of classic German dishes! The flamkuchen, schnitzel, spaetzle & cheesecake were fantastic!
My mom, friend and I went to dinner and had a great time! The food was wonderful, large portions and reasonably priced. Staff were friendly and attentive. They had someone playing the guitar and he was great. We will definitely be coming back!

Franzel is a highly praised German restaurant known for its delicious and flavorful food. Visitors often mention that the food is well seasoned, with standout dishes like schnitzel, sauerbraten, rouladen, and goulash. The schnitzel, in particular, receives frequent praise for being outstanding. Other popular items include potato dumplings, meatballs, perogies, and pumpernickel bread, which is delicious despite an extra charge. The Black Forest Chicken and pork Hacks are also enjoyed by guests.
The presentation of meals is consistently praised, and portions are often described as huge. Many guests find Franzel's food to be some of the best German food they have ever had, often comparing it favorably to other well-known German eateries. While most reviews highlight the excellent flavors and quality, some mention that the spaetzle was too heavy and overcooked on one visit.
The staff, especially Taylor and Erica, are described as kind, attentive, and a joy to serve. The atmosphere is welcoming, and parking is easy, especially on Sundays. Drinks and beer selections are good, although some guests wish for additional options like Hofbrau beer on draft. Overall, Franzel is a favorite spot for authentic, flavorful German cuisine with friendly service.
