“Food is not worth the almost 2 hour wait. Seriously, when they say 30/40 minutes, they mean it will be ready in 80/90 minutes if you’re lucky. As I type this, we ordered 5 minutes shy of 2 hours ago. Still not ready. And this is typical.“

“No idea why the rate is so low. Sometime they are just busy, maybe too busy, which means everyone loves the foods and willing to wait.
Anyway, I had good time every time dining here.
Delicious and will come back again and again.“

“I was there at Jian Nan Syosset, Long Island. Everything went great!! But, those took the orders needed to be more educated to understand each dishes. We were a fairly larger group than standard party size. Some dished were small and some dim sum served with small quantities, like 3 or 4. Those who order for the large group, should give suggestion to order multiple orders for the same dish. So, each one in the group can have at least one.“

“Very fresh, authentic Chinese cuisine. Service was good (slow at first), but friendly and attentive. So glad to have a good Chinese restaurant in the neighborhood!“

“O Yes! O Mandarin!
On Sunday night, we went to one of Long Island’s best Chinese restaurants, I’m talking about O Mandarin!
There are many Chinese takeout and restaurants to choose from, but many are really sub par or just fair ( ok, don’t start piling on, I know there are some good ones too).
But for us, O Mandarin offers a beautiful atmosphere, friendly staff, and a menu that offers both traditional favorites with a selection of more authentic options. It’s for these reasons , it’s our favorite.
We started with some hot & sour soup 🥣 which was thick and loaded with veggies 🥗 & tofu.
The scallion bubble 🫧 pancake 🥞 is unique and delicious. It’s like an airy pillow. Just tear off a piece and dip it in the red curry 🍛 sauce and you will know why this is so different from other places flat style.
We tried the crispy shiitake mushrooms 🍄🟫 which was new for us. a light, delicate flavor dusted with cumin and chili 🌶️ with lots of crunch.
For our main dishes 🍽️ we had the Thousand Layer Tofu, Yu Xiang Chicken 🐔 , and the Wild Pepper 🫑 Beef! Each had its own unique flavor and texture. We loved 🥰 all 3!
The Thousand Layer Tofu features: a mix of Pork Belly, Jalapeño 🌶️ , Red Bell 🔔 Pepper , Chinese Celery 🥬 all in a light sauce. The tofu is like folded napkins , not cubes which I really enjoyed.
The Yu Xiang Chicken 🐓 is a blend of shredded chicken🐔 , 🧅 strips, Bamboo shoots, Bell Pepper 🫑 , & Mushroom 🍄🟫 in a Spicy 🌶️ Garlic 🧄 Sauce. A refreshing dish with a touch of heat 🔥.
The Wild Pepper 🌶️ Beef 🥩 was a treat.
Bell 🔔 Peppers 🫑 | Jalapeño 🌶️ | Basil 🌿 | Onion 🧅 in a silky Brown Pepper Sauce. Full of flavor!
And all throughout our meal we sipped our delicious Jasmine Green Tea 🍵 ! Made with fresh tea 🍵 leaves 🍃. So tasty and aromatic!
For great Chinese cooking, take a visit to O Mandarin. It’s worth the trip!
600 Old Country Rd., Hicksville, NY ( just off the wantagh pkwy).
Go and enjoy! 😊“
