“Have eaten here for years with the restaurant having different names, but it has always been good. It's clean, and the wait staff are very helpful. We had wonton soup, shrimp dumplings, and chicken with broccoli to share, and they were all delicious. The price is right too. We always come down to Chinatown to get a good Chinese meal when we come visiting from Florida (native New Yorkers, retired to the sun and hurricanes); this is the spot to hit.“

“I was there at Jian Nan Syosset, Long Island. Everything went great!! But, those took the orders needed to be more educated to understand each dishes. We were a fairly larger group than standard party size. Some dished were small and some dim sum served with small quantities, like 3 or 4. Those who order for the large group, should give suggestion to order multiple orders for the same dish. So, each one in the group can have at least one.“

“We’ve been here many times, and this time I really wanted to leave a review because we always have such a great experience.

The dim sum is fresh, delicious, and made in-house. If you love Shanghai-style dim sum and cuisine, I definitely recommend this place.

What really stands out to me is the service and how much they care about their customers. The lady owner is always so attentive. If she notices that we leave some food on the plate, she’ll come over and ask, “Was everything okay? Did you not like it?” You can really feel that she genuinely cares about the food and her customers’ experience.

Everyone here is friendly, welcoming, and very attentive. Great food, great service, and always a comfortable experience. Definitely recommend stopping by if you’re around Grand Street!“

“I've been coming here for a few years now and it is now time to finally make my review. The crab meat dumplings always hit the spot and I recommend this over any other option. Pork is alright but it is basic and you can get that anywhere, if you want something great then crab meat is the way to go. I definitely recommend the kung pao chicken, the peanuts were crisp, the spice was on point and the chicken was tender. The sauce to chicken ratio was a good amount as it didn't make the meal feel too watery. It was crispy and delightful.

The service in past years has changed, I have experienced great service and somewhat less of that in the past, but this time I went, the service has certainly redeemed themselves.

When you go to Joe's Shanghai, be open to trying more than just their soup dumplings.“

“I stumbled across this place: it’s sort of hidden away. My goodness was I surprised. Their food quality is outstanding. I am vegetarian and I had their orange soy chicken. “I lived in NY for 37 years and nothing beats the food. That being said, I moved to Florida 4 years ago for work and haven't been back until last week. We went in for Thanksgiving (work), and decided we would do take out for dinner. This place was amazing. Food is always what I expected.....New York food is the best. The staff was super friendly, the prices were not anything crazy, and the food was ready within 10 minutes. We brought it back to the hotel and ate all of it. I don't know how food is where you are, but they always bury it in rice. Not here. They gave so much chicken and pork on top of the rice, I was very satisfied. Highly recommended.“

My family has been coming here most weekends for years, and have never had a meal short of exceptional. The service is attentive and kind, the food is incredible and there is no feeling for us like sitting at a table in Baodega.

The food is incredible and always brings us back. The pan-fried bao on the first page of the menu and dry pot chicken or beef are standouts, but every item on the menu we’ve tried has been phenomenal.

We started with Salted Edamame and Cucumber with Garlic, then the table filled up fast: Szechuan-style Wontons, Soup Dumplings, Dong Po Pork, Fried Rice, Fried Pork Dumplings, Roasted Pork Buns, Scallion Pancakes, and Wonton Soup. Every dish came out hot and fast, which matters a lot with a table this size. The Soup Dumplings lived up to the hype, thin skin, rich broth, everything intact. The Dong Po Pork was rich, tender, and fell apart exactly the way it should.
