I've been here 4 times in the past month now. The food slaps. Makes me feel like I'm back in Shanghai. Chef/owner is very welcoming and passionate about his food. The menu is a mix of authentic Shanghainese food and more mainstream NYC Chinese food. I recommend the pan fried dumplings （生煎吧）, lions head meatballs （狮子头）, and crab tofu （蟹粉豆腐）. I love the warm and casual vibes and Baodega has definitely become my new neighborhood spot.
We love Baodega! We came because of the viral TikTok but stayed for the lovely kind staff and delicious food. The 生煎包 and 獅子頭 are particularly outstanding - definitely better than usual Manhattan Chinatown fare and on par with Flushing. Price is extremely reasonable given the location, and most importantly all the employees and owner are so warm and friendly. Definitely come try this out, you won't regret it!
