The Bao Reviews
Food ranges from average to great. They've got all the basics but my favorite by far is the Sichuan spicy chicken. Crispy, a little spicy, beautifully aromatic. The skin on their dumpling dishes were all a little overcooked. Service is readily available and quick. We had a reservation for a large group on a weeknight and were immediately seated. Restaurant was empty when we arrived (630ish) but was pretty busy by the time we left (8:30ish).
I only did take out so I can't comment on the ambiance or their service. Food-wise, I felt that they overcharged for some of their food. The Sesame Bun with Sliced Pork Belly was $11. However it was just one small bun and piece of pork belly. Felt more like $6/7 at best. Same goes for the Scallion Pancake with Shredded Duck - $17 but came in a small box. Felt more like $11/12 at best. Taste wise was pretty good, but be warned that the red colored soup dumpling can be quite spicy.

Food is definitely good. But I have never been able to try the soup dumplings/ long bao and that's what they excel at. It's because they don't offer vegetarian/vegan ones. In this day and age, I think they should offer atleast one vegan option. I really hope the chef considers adding it.
