Maharaja Sweets Reviews
We were in the city to enjoy some dosas but my first choice didn’t have air conditioning and we were in the middle of a heat wave!!
So we were really bummed about not getting a dosa when we almost passed this life saver by because we couldn’t see the tables inside in the back.
We had a great experience. The food was fresh and tasty. The dosa rocked. The kulfi, not so much. But I’d go back.
Best sweet and foods
Sweets are good.

Maharaja Sweets offers good quality Indian/Pakistani sweetmeats, closer to authentic taste. The shop can be crowded, especially on weekends, with a small seating area towards the back. They insist on cash for orders over $100. The staff can improve efficiency. The menu is not available online but the sweets are considered the best in the Northeastern USA. The vegetarian options like Palak Paneer and Saag are very tasty with huge portions at affordable prices.
Located in the heart of Jackson Heights, Maharaja Sweets is a vibrant spot for authentic Indian sweets and snacks. The moment you step inside, the aroma of fresh jalebis, samosas, and rich curries fills the air. Their chaat items are a must-try—crisp, tangy, and full of flavor. The masala chai is well-balanced and served hot, perfect for a quick tea break.
The place has limited seating, but the service is quick and friendly. Prices are reasonable, especially considering the portion sizes. It’s popular with both local South Asians and anyone craving Indian street food and desserts. For festivals or special occasions, their assorted sweet boxes are beautifully packed. If you’re in Jackson Heights and want a taste of authentic Indian flavors, Maharaja Sweets is worth a visit.
