The food may have been sitting for too long and looked greasier than normal. “This is one of my top choices for NYC style slices of pizza. I had the Tarftu and the L’Industrie slices. They were delicious despite the fact I eat them when they got cold. The ingredients was fresh. I like how they put oil on it and they have chili oil available too. They put fresh basil on it also. I am not going to lie it is expensive but it is worth the splurge. I love the unique flavors. Best to come on a Monday night when there are no long lines. Definitely coming back for the Fig and bacon along with the New Yorker slice.“

“Amazing dinner experience for valentine's day. It was packed when we arrived but were promptly seated as we had a reservation. We had the prix fixed menu which consisted of 3 courses. The apps were amazing and almost stole the show before entrees arrived. We were so taken aback how great they were and couldn't stop raving about ever so tender and flavorful octopus and Cavatelli duck ragu. For entrees, we chose duck breast and the American wagyu steak cooked properly to medium and medium rare and had amazing tenderness and flavors with a beautiful presentation as well.Only minor gripes were the cocktails we had ordered were a tad too sweet and fruity for our enjoyment and we had to switch it up to something off their menu and classics which they accommodated gladly. Service was attentive although it was a hectic night for v day. The desserts could improve and didn't live up to par like the apps and entrees. Flourless chocolate cake was rather dry but Panna cotta was beautifully presented and scrumptious. Overall it was definitely worthy of a former 1 michellin star restaurant experience in my heart. Wish them the best of luck to getting back their hard earned michellin star.“

Many waiters were serving us and they were constantly checking if we needed something. They were refilling out waters all the time and it was just very polite. What was interesting is the "daily special menu", the waiter was standing their reading about the daily special for like at least 5 mins and we had to stop him from continuing. Either way, we got the bucatini cacio e pepe and it was very yummy. My husband got the veal and it was not the most photogenic dish, but tasted much better than it looked. We also got the octopus, which was soaked in balsamic, also very nice. Overall a very nice traditional Italian place.“

We started out with the Scallion Pancake and Vegetable Dumplings. I don't eat Scallion Pancakes very often because most places don't make it very well. Joe's Pancake was perfection! Cooked just right with layers of flavors. The Dumplings were light and fresh. For our main course we had Chicken with Broccoli and Sauteed Crystal Shrimp. Both were delicious and very generous portions. It was the first time I had had the Crystal Shrimp and I couldn't stop eating them. The Staff was very nice and we felt very well attended to but not overly so. We are really looking forward to returning so we can try some dishes that we have never had before.“

“Best experience!! We had a private event at American Brass in January for about 20 people. Everything was perfect! The restaurant is gorgeous, and the food was delicious! We loved the style and atmosphere of the restaurant. Our menu included a champagne toast, appetizers, their amazing focaccia bread, steak frites, the polenta, passed desserts, and a cake. They were also able to accommodate a vegetarian option. It was all so good!! Everyone really loved their food, as well as drinks at the bar afterwards! The staff are all incredibly friendly and accommodating. Tegwyth, American Brass’s Events Manager, was so thoughtful and instrumental to planning our event! She worked closely with us for months leading up to the party and had great suggestions. Ellen, American Brass’s Executive Pastry Chef, made us the most beautiful and delicious cake. Everyone was raving about the cake! Juan, our server, was also phenomenal and went above and beyond. The restaurant is directly across from the Gantry Park Piers, great for photos. I have brought so many friends here because it is perfect from anywhere to a date night to a chill lunch/dinner to catch up with friends. Their cocktails are amazing especially their version of an espresso martini. All of the staff is so friendly and always make sure you're taken care of at all times. On top of everything and most importantly the food is AMAZING. Although I am not vegan anymore, I still can call this my favorite restaurant because they do everything on their menu so well and it's rare in my experience where vegan food is indistinguishable from non-plant based food and my favorite is the enchiladas mole. Pineapple and mango are also good.“

Also attractively presented and came in generous portions. I recommend the huevos rancheros, and the eggs benedict, but not the steak as it was cooked medium rare as ordered but not tender. Eating out feels more expensive these days, and while I consider Luna's decent value, I wouldn't call it cheap. Maybe that's how it needs to be nowadays, despite being in a grittier part of town.
