Good food, but customer service was extremely poor. I went with a group of people. The server didn't even offer water or drinks untill we asked. On top of it, he didn't know that he should ask each guests separately what they would like to order. Sorry but disappointing experience, not sure what is the hype about.

We visited Sagar Chinese in Jackson Heights years ago (before the pandemic), and had a wonderful experience. During our recent visit, I insisted that we should eat here again, and we showed up with a group of 6. This was a disappointing dinner. We ordered lollipop chicken, Thai soup, hot and sour soup, wontons, sizzling beef, chow mein, and fried rice. Only the lollipop chicken, and the hot sour soup were worth more than 2 stars, but not by much. The rest of the items were lacking any flavor. We were told by our local friends that this restaurant is not like it used to be, and we should have listened to them. Unfortunately, we will not be returning to this place in the future.

Went for lunch during the weekday. Lollipop chicken was old and looked like it was fried multiple times. Fried rice lacked flavor. Chow mein was ok. Quality has definitely dropped off since I last visited.

Excellent unique food. Must try. This restaurant deserves a MUCH Higher rating. We went around 5pm, about 30% of the tables were occupied. Food came out quickly.
Service is reasonable for a desi restaurant 😊 women wait staff were cordial, hard for the guy waiters to break a smile, very serious 😊
anyway again a must try if you are tired of the same old oily Indian food…

They have served prawn but the food was stored in wrong way so the onion got smelly! Worst part was they were trying cover this up instead of apology! Because the kids already took their first bite!
The rice have we are given our bad. There is weird, dirty stretchy stuff coming out of the rice that normally comes out when the rice are really old or from the day before. Or maybe they just left rice out in the kitchen and they went bad because it is so hot outside. Either way is not justified. My kids it’s ate a few bites when I did not know the rice were bad and got really sick.

We visited Sagar Chinese near Jackson Heights for an early dinner with a group of 7, and had a great experience overall. The food was flavorful, the service was quick and polite, and the atmosphere was casual yet family-friendly — perfect for a relaxed meal.
We started with the Thai soup, which was warm, comforting, and full of flavor — definitely a highlight. The Sizzling Chicken was served hot and had a great balance of spice and tenderness. Their fried rice had that classic Indo-Chinese taste we were craving, and the chicken lollipop was spot on — crispy, spicy, and authentic in flavor.
While the restroom setup includes just one male and one female toilet — so there can be a bit of a wait — the rest of the experience made up for it. We were a little disappointed that the famous Sagar Lassi was unavailable (it had run out the day before), but now we just have another reason to come back!
Highly recommend this spot if you’re looking for tasty Indo-Chinese food in a welcoming setting.

I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. The food was delicious, fresh, and full of flavor. What made my visit even more special was the service. A Nepali girl working there was incredibly sweet, kind, and hardworking. She greeted us with a warm smile, made sure everything was perfect, and stayed calm and friendly even during the busy rush. Her positive attitude truly made our meal more enjoyable. People like her make a big difference thank you for your amazing service.
