This really was a beautiful dinner. I couldn't have asked for better service. I believe my waitress' name was Brittany, and she was really so kind and lovely. While my food was delicious.... I'm taking off one star for price. I got one appetizer, one drink, one salad, and one dessert. And my bill was 140 dollars before tip. When I was told the appetizer special was a pasta, I'm looking at all of the other appetizers and I'm seeing prices of around 20 to 30 bucks. So I'm thinking okay this thing is probably going to be 20 to 30 dollars. I knew I wanted to try dessert and salad so I thought I'd spend less by getting an app. Sometimes you just want a cool experience without breaking the bank. Not to mention I try to stay within my 100. 00 budget I get for traveling for work. Needless to say I was sticker -shocked when I saw the pasta was 60 dollars. The portion was EXTREMELY small, there was no meat. Just noodles and sauce. So it definitely hurt to pay that bill and I wouldn't come here again. However I'm glad I got the experience since they do make you feel very catered to. The amouse bouche selection was a pork consomme that was absolutely heavenly. Highly recommend if money is no object. Highly recommend staying away if it is ?

The place was difficult to find and utterly deserted. We soon found out the reason, as they refused to serve us at all because we were not "guests of the lodge." They should really mention on their website that the public is not welcome. Zero stars.

Excellent fine dining venue in Lake Placid! We stayed as hotel guests and enjoyed it! As locals we would love to go back regularly even when we don’t have a room! Beautiful venue!

We ate at Artisans twice while staying at the Lake Placid Lodge, where it is located. Beautiful Adirondack deco space with great fireplaces, furniture, decorations, etc. Looking at the lake; large outside dining area in the warmer weather. Excellent service; fairly priced wine list, and excellent food! The baked oysters were delicious. Delicious onion soup. Loved the pork chop special one night, and perfect slow-cooked short ribs the other night. Delightful place! Also great for breakfast when staying at the Lodge. Terrific muffins! Delicious sausage gravy on biscuits!

The food was good but needs a bit more flavor. Scampi needed more flavor, but the salmon was tasty and the salad was really wonderful

We had our engagement dinner at Artisans and were disappointed. While the surf and turf was good, the two appetizers were bad for different reasons. The tuna cakes came recommended by our server and they were dry and tasteless. We couldn’t even find any traces of tuna. The cakes were also served atop some sort of black grain that just didn’t go with the rest of the dish. The burrata was maybe the size of a tablespoon. While there were 2-3 other couples in the restaurant, they had run out of the oyster appetizer that we did want (which is how we ended up with the tuna cakes). We also had wanted the brownie dessert, but they had also run out of that (again- there was hardly anyone in the restaurant). We enjoyed ourselves - because we always do - but were left feeling unsatisfied because of the caliber of the meal vs the price we paid.

Wonderfully delicious dinner with a breathtaking view! Went with the recommendations of our server McKenzie and was not disappointed. The Buck Bolognese was fantastic, as was the Passilla Pepper Dusted Rougie Poulet. Highly recommend, glad we have reservations for tomorrow night!

Fantastic from beginning to end. Drinks in Maggie's Pub and dinner at the Artisans was a memorable experience and the service was impeccable.

Overpriced flavorless food with mediocre service. Dinner with wine was $ 400. We had a tasteless rubbery crab cake appetizer, a dull salad. The special steak $ 128 for 2. Steak was under seasoned and not enough for 2 to share. The side of mashed potatoes was terrible. The Brussel sprouts and asparagus were ok. Bread and butter were excellent. Wine selection is good but over priced. Our wine had to be decanted, the decanter spout was chipped - when I pointed this out the server‘a was only concern was that she didn't get blamed for it. Restaurant was almost empty and we had to ask for water, bread and bring the check up to front

We spent 4 nights at the Lodge including Valentines Day. Breakfast was included in our package so that was the majority of our meals at Artisans. All the breakfasts were wonderful... French toast is to die for and egg dishes were really great as well. Ordered the biscuits and gravy one morning and found it to be really spicy. The version down south where we live now is a little more tame so I’m not calling it bad but different for us almost like a hot Italian sausage. Had Valentines dinner there and had the Tomahawk ribeye for two. Over all good Valentines dinner. Staff is excellent and so friendly. There are many restaurants in Lake Placid but if you don’t want to leave the property it’s really good.

My husband and I first visited Artisans in 2012 and had a wonderful experience. Before our recent return, I had read some unflattering reviews and was second-guessing our plans. I am so glad that we followed through: it was, perhaps, even better than the first time. We visited with friends, and they thoroughly enjoyed it as well. The food was innovative and delicious, portions were quite generous, the ambiance is unbeatable, and our server, José, was a gem! We can't wait to return.

One of my favorite restaurants when I come to visit Lake Placid. Delicious menu. A bit pricey but worth the splurge.

Disappointing service. Food was good. Wine list was outrageously overpriced. Went here to celebrate a milestone birthday. I called the restaurant to inform them of the birthday and there was only a verbal recognition upon sitting. After dinner when normally ordering a dessert I expect to have a candle at the minimum if not somehow stating Happy birthday on the plate. Don't get me wrong. I don't expect any singing, in fact I'm not a fan of such at a high end restaurant. I expect an elegant recognition of the celebration. Upon bring my disappointment to the manager who was at least saying the right things the waitress then came out and have a half hearted apology. I will never return again
