Big Z's at Lake Placid Lanes

Jackie went above and beyond helping with a surprise birthday. Big Z’s is not just a bowling alley and arcade games, it’s a great place to have a catered party. Food was abundant, very tasty and reasonably priced. There’s only a handful of places I would recommend, as a local, and Big Z’s delivers.

Expensive, water all over lanes we had to clean up prior to bowling. Is more for the tourist that an avid bowler. Was the first time, however, bowling with string pins.

Parents with kids this is a perfect option for you! Outdoor area with turf and corn-hole. Picnic table seating in one large area and enough arcade games to entertain kids. Food was very good. Service was great. Bartender whose name I didn’t get was awesome and asked many times if everything was good and if we needed anything. Didn’t bowl but that looked like a great area too.

If you don’t have kids with you don’t worry the bar sits off on its own so you can get away from them. Don’t blame you if you do!

You will not be unhappy or dissatisfied. Unless your last chicken wing fell on the ground, you got a gutter ball an happy hour hasn't started yet. Staff is amazing, the place is always a vibe, and you'll have a great time.

I ordered to go for dinner, I waited for few minutes as the one who’s taking the order is also the one who is assisting the customers in the bowling section. When I got my orders, I found out that I am missing one order, so I have to go back and waited again to get it. But then again, when I was eating our foods, I notice that my fish n chips became fish n fries with no tartar sauce and no coleslaw. The 2 burgers that I ordered has no pickles on the side as well. We couldn’t eat the nachos as the chips are sticking in the foil.

Was going to bowl here, brought my bowling balls up here while I am on vacation to bowl on the rainy days.

Saw that price though $60 for 1 hour...sorry but I can play for 180 mins for that price at any of the 5 bowling alleys near me around binghamton NY. Id do $60 if it included a meal with the price after the hour.

Great service, great atmosphere. Enjoyed my beer, Manhattan and burger.

I'm not super sure how I feel about my visit here, some positives and negatives.

Firstly, the service was exceptional. Staff were extremely friendly to us and I definitely felt they cared about our experience. We did not get food, however the bartender was quick and attentive.

Secondly, I will say - the bowling itself was pretty fun. Shoes weren't old or smelly. Lanes/pins were definitely good quality.

The only con in my opinion is the price. I understand they can charge what they charge as it's the only place like this in the area (or that is walkable). Additionally, their bowling equipment is good quality. However, my party and I 100 percent would have spent more money on drinks/food/more bowling if the hourly price wasn't 60 dollars.

It's expensive. I have been to other places in upstate New York that charge 10/20 dollars less AND the experience is pretty equal to what you can get here.

Overall, would I recommend going here to bowl and get a few drinks while I'm at it? Yes, IF I really needed to do something to keep the kids preoccupied for an hour and there wasn't a cheaper equivalent.

However, I definitely would not come here more than once during a trip or stay more than an hour.

I've been here before and absolutely loved it. This recent visit however, my cousin and I walked out after getting served our soft drinks and not having our order taken for over 15 minutes. There appeared to be only one person working who was trending bar primarily. After bringing our drinks and menus, he just never came back. We watched him just continue to take care of everyone at the bar and patrons that were newly there coming in from outside... for at least 15 (or more) minutes. Giving 3 stars because I know the food is good...

Went there the first time and loved it. Decided to try again. Order was wrong so I brought it back ( Big mistake). Old order sat at the hostess stand. Waited 10 minutes or so for new order. Hostess came out with food. Put new food in old food containers. Kept the same fries in old box. Got home and burger bun was so greasy and unedible. Burger was supposed to be well done and was meduim rare and super greasy. Definitely won't try a third time.

We had a great time tonight in this great atmosphere! Our group is here for a conference and this was a great pick for the rainy night! I would definitely come again!

Very accommodating to our group of 12! Lots of fun to be had under one roof!
