This restaurant was a huge surprise and our favorite in Lake Placid!! Highly recommend reservations because the indoor dining area is very small with limited seating options. They also have an outdoor patio that would be fantastic on a warm night under the patio lights. It is a cozy, moody, quaint place that is perfect for an adult date night. The staff is friendly, attentive, and helpful. The food is amazing and full of flavor. Will be back next time we are in town! Highly recommend!

Caffé Rustica is easily one of the best restaurants in Lake Placid. I have a gluten allergy and wasn’t sure I’d be able to eat much, but the staff immediately let me know they have gluten-free pasta and that all their sauces are naturally gluten-free. Huge relief.
I went with the salmon, and it was fantastic—the sauce was rich and full of flavor. For dessert, I tried the flourless chocolate cake and honestly, it was one of the best I’ve had. Total 10/10. We also ordered the Chicken Boursin with gluten-free pasta, and it was incredible. We thought it might be too heavy, but the hint of citrus kept it bright and balanced.
The vibe inside is cozy with low lighting, and they also have outdoor seating if you’d rather sit outside.
If you’re in Lake Placid, I’d highly recommend stopping here—especially if you need gluten-free options.

We visit this restaurant every summer, it’s a tradition. Another wonderful meal at Cafe Rustica. Our table of 5 ordered the Salmon, Shrimp Risotto, Seafood pasta, Bolognese and Stuffed Peppers. Everything tremendous!

One of the loveliest evenings in a long time. We enjoyed superb service, with Thomas as our waiter. The entire staff genuinely seemed happy to be there, something you don’t often see. We ate outside on a warm summer evening, with lights strung around the area and lots of plants. I loved that my delicious gluten free pasta dish came with a sprig of fresh Rosemary. Just a nice extra touch.

To be honest, I was not overwhelmed by my entrè selection. It was supposed to be one of the best. It was mediocre at best. It was swimming in sauce and the noodles were mushy. I would say it rates low on bang for the buck. Our server was fantastic and the atmosphere was good for a large party.

outstanding! We sat outside on a beautiful night on the patio that was so precious. William, our server was top notch. lovely, polite, accommodating and attentive. ribeye special done to perfection. The mushroom stuffed ravioli carbonara was delicious! My boyfriend said it was the best he's ever had. we shared our meals.. and had leftovers! (which were just as delicious the next day). For sure going back when up that way again 🙏❣️😋
