Beautiful setting, great service. Not a fan of buffet service but it was very nicely done with good quality food.

The food, service and ambiance are all top shelf. Had the short ribs and they were amazing.

Took 20 minutes to get a drink. Service was underwhelming. Food was very good but felt very forgotten in terms of service. I think I know why there are mixed reviews now.

Portions were fine, but not particularly generous. The food two of us ordered, including an appetizer, a salmon entree (mouthwatering, even the vegetables), a steak entree, and desserts, were amazing! Service top notch too.

Delightful atmosphere and ambiance. Good food and drink. A little pricey but perfect for a special occasion!

We thoroughly enjoyed the thoughtful menu and magical ambience around an estimated 40 foot Christmas tree that was the definition of Christmas quintessence. Friendly service superior fare served without pretense and for us, a dining space to ourselves.

Beyond Beautiful restaurant— service was absolutely awful. Food came out cold and waitress was totally inattentive Food was average for the price but the location- was gorgeous

Buffet was good. Valet non-existent. Put in private dining area which was nice but maybe have some background music in there at least

This setting is amazing, surrounded by hunting lodge trappings decorated seasonally (especially stunning at Christmas). Fireplaces and dark wood throughout give a consistent warm, cozy, atmosphere. I’ve eaten here twice now and the food was good but expensive compared to comparable dining in the area. Service has been mixed, sometimes fast and attentive, but there is a tendency for food to take a long time to arrive. Cocktails are excellent and there is a strong wine list. The menu has a lot of variety but pay attention to prices - entrees can run $20-$80 so you don’t want to get surprised with the check. This restaurant is super convenient if you’re staying at the lodge.

Extremely disappointing and unprofessional experience.

About a month ago, I called Kanu to make a New Year’s Eve reservation for my family, who are traveling from Brazil to spend the holiday together after being one year away from them. This evening was especially important to us because it is also my mother’s birthday.

For the past four weeks, I called weekly to confirm the reservation. Each time, the same woman answered the phone and repeatedly reassured me that everything was confirmed. She told me the reservation was set, explained the time frame (9 PM–1 AM), the price per person, and said I would receive a follow-up call with menu details and logistics. Because I never received that call, I continued to call weekly and specifically asked multiple times if she was sure the reservation was secured- and every time, I was told yes.

Four days before New Year’s Eve, and one day before traveling with my family, I called again just to ask a simple question about bringing champagne. This time, a different person answered, who seemed to be the manager, and informed me that there was no reservation under my name, they were booked up for many months and they would not be able to accommodate us.

At that point, every restaurant in the area was already fully booked, leaving us scrambling with no options for New Year’s Eve or my mother’s birthday.

This situation was entirely avoidable and reflects extremely poor communication and lack of accountability. Repeated reassurance over multiple weeks, followed by a last-minute denial, is unacceptable - especially for a holiday reservation.

Very disappointing experience, and unfortunately not one I would recommend.

Overall outstanding experience. Top quality food, and great professional and courteous service. Wonderful ambiance and decoration. All staff members were fantastic, starting with the friendly valet parking attendants.

I really like the food in your lovely lodge, but im angry that you changed the cookie recipe. The old cookies were spectacular, the dough was as fine as could be, the chocolate as milky as a cow, but the hardness is what impedes this old formula of the cookie.

Always nice to enjoy the holidays at Kanu. However the food was cold, bar was slow and there was a child's birthday party at one of the tables and ballon's would pop randomly during dinner. A warm dinner would have made the experience better. Disappointing this time

We enjoyed appetizers, pasta entrees and a delicious lemon-raspberry sponge cake. Our server was attentive and pleasant. It's Christmas time so we had the extra special ambiance of the 32 ft tree.

Do not go. Beautiful dining room, 2 fireplaces that the staff would not light. Food was returned. Never again.
