Always nice to enjoy the holidays at Kanu. However the food was cold, bar was slow and there was a child's birthday party at one of the tables and ballon's would pop randomly during dinner. A warm dinner would have made the experience better. Disappointing this time
We enjoyed appetizers, pasta entrees and a delicious lemon-raspberry sponge cake. Our server was attentive and pleasant. It's Christmas time so we had the extra special ambiance of the 32 ft tree.
Do not go. Beautiful dining room, 2 fireplaces that the staff would not light. Food was returned. Never again.
The property is beautiful. We were seated promptly and our waitress was very welcoming and attentive. We are gluten free and she explained how our choices were made. The food was beautifully presented and delicious.
Nestled in the heart of the Adirondacks, Kanu at Whiteface Lodge offers an experience that perfectly blends rustic elegance with fine dining. The prime rib buffet is the star of the show—expertly prepared, tender, and full of rich flavor. Each cut is perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection, paired beautifully with an impressive selection of sides and accompaniments. The atmosphere is nothing short of stunning. With its warm lighting, high timbered ceilings, and cozy mountain-lodge charm, Kanu creates a setting that's both luxurious and inviting. Whether you're seated by the grand fireplace or near the large picture windows, the ambiance adds a special touch to every bite. Equally impressive is the service. The staff is attentive without being intrusive, ensuring that drinks stay full and that every guest feels genuinely welcomed. In short, Kanu at Whiteface Lodge delivers an exceptional dining experience—delicious food, beautiful surroundings, and top-notch hospitality. It's the perfect place to relax, indulge, and savor the best of Adirondack dining.
The buffet was very nicely laid out and the food was very good! The staff was extremely friendly and the restaurant has a nice atmosphere!
Was one of the best dinners we have had in a long time. The service was amazing. We came for our 2nd anniversary dinner and were offered a free glass of champagne which was very sweet. Our meals were amazing and the whole atmosphere was great for a night out together. The lighting was perfect and the noise level was great to be able to talk but not hear everyones conversations. We cant wait to come back!
The restaurant provides a daunting presence in the main room with 50 plus high foot ceilings. The menu is typical steakhouse. My friend ordered the surf and turf and I ordered the boar sausage. We also had appetizers of the lobster bisque and the burrata. The bisque was terribly under seasoned although there were big chunks of lobster. The burrata was good. On my dish with boar it was served with carrots that were completely undercooked. Crunchy. Luckily my friend ordered the roasted carrots which were quite good. The steak was underwhelming but properly cooked. The lobster tail with it was likely not fresh. Just found it underwhelming.
I was a bit worried about food sensitivities when we arrived but was able to discuss with manager and chef and ended up having the best steak I have ever had anywhere. Everyone loved their meals. Thank you Kanu staff for working with my food sensitivities. I know it's not always easy! 10/10 effort and implementation. ❤️
We are staying at the Whiteface Lodge and feel fortunate to have a superior restaurant on site. I am celiac and felt so comfortable with Jenny and her great care with the food. Speaking of food, it was phenomenal. Perfect! This restaurant is a gem.

A wonderful rustic Adirondack restaurant with a nice menu and wine list. We enjoyed our meal and the service was great.
Thoroughly enjoyed our experience here. Food was excellent, ambience wonderful, and our server, Jessica, was very pleasant and attentive. Many gluten free options made it special as a celiac diner. Would recommend and will return! Thank you Jessica for a wonderful dining experience!
Beautiful setting. No noise- restaurant was virtually empty. Service was terrible. food was fair at best. Would not return
Decent experience. That's it food was underwhelming. Building is nice. Not the dinner we were expecting but also not expensive. T
Great Adirondack lodge feel and look. Wide selection on the menu, thought the lobster mac and cheese was good.
