Wow! Our group of 4 was very happy with everything. The venison sandwich was outstanding, the tartiflette was absolutely delicious. We also had exceptional service from our waiter. Definitely recommend this cozy warm atmosphere on a cool autumn evening.

A cozy restaurant with best burger (peak 47 signature burger) and awesome service.

Peak 47 is the casual restaurant located within the Whiteface Lodge. It sits right next door to Kanu, the hotel's fancier option. We actually prefer the laid-back atmosphere of Peak 47 to Kanu. The food is great, the decor is beautiful, and the service has always been top-notch. Peak 47 is one of our go-to restaurants to visit in the Lake Placid area. Highly recommended!

We were happy to dine here after arriving at The Whiteface Lodge. Very cozy place with wood burning fireplaces. We were a party of 4 adults. We sampled their wings, and we also had their Chicken sandwich, sausage pasta and another dish that escapes me. Everything was very good. Great service!
This is almost like a restaurant that just opened and can't iron out the issues. The problem is it's not new. The host had to bus tables so everything was a mess. The offerings are limited and they didnt even bring a birthday dessert to celebrate. It's a shame that such a nice hotel doesn't have a restaurant that is organized and can handle a busy night.
Absolutely disastrous service, not the fault of the server but the management. 1 single server for 12 tables. Took us 20 min to get seated although plenty of space, another 15 minute to make an order. Empty tables around us were not clean and had left over plates and food from prior parties. Not coming back here. On the plus side the location and building is stunning.
If you go bring a good book because you’re in for a long night. Service was painfully slow. I had to go to the bar to get my own drink after waiting 15 minutes for a refill. Our waitress was clearly wishing to be somewhere else. The food was okay but between the prices and the terrible service I would eat elsewhere.
Food was just horrible and at outrageous prices. Heirloom tomato salad for $18 had about 5 small pieces of tomato that were starting to go bad, 25 of the saltiest olives, a ton of red onions, a dash of micro greens and a tasteless dressing……should have been called an olive salad!!! Sausage rapini white pizza was as dry and tasteless as could be for $22. House made potato chips are clearly over cooked and taste burnt. The seats at our table had food on them from prior guests. It is no wonder that on a 90 degree day at lunch time that this place was completely empty. Six years ago the food was so much better…..best to just start over now. The kitchen and management has zero pride nor care for what it is serving. The only saving grace was the excellent service by the waitress…..it’s not her fault that the kitchen does not match her enthusiasm nor effort.
Peak 47 is exactly the kind of bar you want to settle into in the Adirondacks! Roaring fire, leather club chairs, copper topped bar...it hits all the marks. The menu is not very friendly to dietary restrictions.

It’s nestled in a cozy corner off the main staircase, on the second floor, looking out across the lawn. Real fireplaces bracket the room and the Adirondack decor is completely authentic. More importantly, they serve one of the very best Reubens anywhere (with apologies to NYC). Within such a relaxed atmosphere, the food appeared as if it were hi-lighted with a spotlight - soups you could swim in, freshly made chips, crispy quesadillas…. Not fancy Food, but simple things done extraordinarily well, served with care. Perfection.
While staying at the Whiteface lodge we ate one dinner there: hamburger, cheese and bacon pizza which were Ok but expensive. We drank a good Argentina malbec. Service was slow and unattentive. With so many small children it could be very noisy at times. For the next two days we tried to go to the higher end restaurant but it was booked. When we booked the room the hotel should have advised us to make advance reservation.
Beautiful setting in the lodge overlooking the mountains. The room is warm and you feel like you are in someone's home. The food was ok, would have expected a little more flavor and variety from such a upscale lodge, but the service and the atmosphere made up for it. Drinks were top notch- good wines and cocktails.
We decide to try the restaurant at the Whiteface lodge. Beautifully decorated with two wood burning fireplaces on each side of the room. The staff seemed a little busy with the restaurant across the hall from this one. They were extremely slow to start, so much so, that my husband had to get up and see if there were anyone working. But once they came in they seemed to be a little more attentive. Our waitress was wonderful, friendly and accommodating. The food was very good and we did enjoy ourselves once they got going. We arrived for drinks and dinner about 5:30 pm.
We were very disappointed at our meal here. The server forgot to tell us the specials. We adked if we could order off the Kanu menus and she told us that both restaurants have the same menu!!! Our food came out at scattered times, long waits, and not prepared properly. I ordered Salmon RARE and it came back well done and I had to wait 40 min for my meal..my entire family had finished their meal. My daughter's pizza was actually soggy and wet. The pasta dish was bland. The chessboard was excellent. The ambiance was nice, but the restaurant was not worth the $375-400 spent there. ( this was without alcohol) I recommend the View, had an outstanding perfect meal there for the same price. The food at The Peak was a little better than diner quality, very disappointed.
