Idol Ridge Winery & Alder Creek Distillery is a large winery and distillery featuring a beautiful building and grounds. The knowledgeable staff guide visitors through the various wines and whiskeys available. The Sunset Lakeview cottage, located on the property, provides beautiful views and a well-stocked gift store. The wine, particularly the 2020 Cab Sav, is highly recommended. The distillery offers spirit flights, and the homemade fudge, along with their cheeky monkey dipping sauce, is a favorite among visitors. The location is described as picture-perfect, with an amazing atmosphere, making it an excellent place to create memories. The overall experience remains welcoming and enjoyable, with many guests eager to return.
The gift shop is quite large with lots of cute things organized and staged nicely. Visitors can enjoy wine and spirit tastings, as well as mimosa and cocktail flights, which come with a fudge sample and tomato oil. The mimosa flights are particularly recommended, and the fudge is super creamy. The cheeky monkey tomato oil with a few crackers is also a favorite. The winery and distillery offer a great view of Seneca Lake, adding to the overall experience.
