The Chestnut Reviews
I was a student from Northern Ireland who was struggling to find somewhere to study that was safe after the library had closed, and I was welcomed in and kept safe. The staff are lovely and kind and the perfect amount of chatty. Would definitely recommend their food.
An exceptional place. The atmosphere is warm and the food really excellent. The owners are adorable. We keep very good memories of our stay at Chestnut.
Kid-friendliness: The waitress took care to bring drawings as soon as we arrived.
Amazing. Wish we had tried it sooner since they are thinking about only opening 3 days a week. The mussels were great and the shrimp sun dried tomato over pasta special was out of this world.
The Chestnut is an exceptional restaurant that offers a warm and inviting atmosphere, along with delicious, freshly-prepared food. The staff, including the owners, Lily and George, and the server, Jamie, are described as friendly, kind, and the perfect amount of chatty, creating a welcoming experience for all customers.
The menu at The Chestnut features a variety of options, from classic dishes like hamburgers and fries to more unique offerings such as the shrimp sun-dried tomato over pasta special, which is said to be "out of this world." The mussels are also highly praised. Desserts, such as the homemade shortcake with blueberry or strawberry topping, are described as very good.
The restaurant is praised for its kid-friendliness, with the waitress taking care to bring drawings for the children as soon as they arrived. The decor is described as both cozy and elegant, and the prices are exceptionally reasonable for the quality and quantity of the food.
Overall, The Chestnut is a gem of a restaurant, offering a relaxed, happy atmosphere, friendly service, and delicious, freshly-prepared meals at reasonable prices. It is a place that is highly recommended by both locals and travelers alike.
