Classic case of two cooks in the kitchen. I wanted to like this place, but I was told one thing by one employee and then apparemtly it was overruled by another. I should’ve walked out, but felt obligated to pay as the old food was dished out already. The fried chicken was good and still hot/crispy surprisingly, no complaints there. Very family orientated and the food is so delicious
Best food I had in a while hands down we came all the way Connecticut and tried out the remarkable southern style soul food . Definitely recommend trying them out if you are in the local area .💯✨

Annie’s Soul Food Kitchen offers amazing southern food that feels like home. The service is friendly, welcoming, and always very nice. The food is fresh, delicious, and absolutely a must. Customers love the fried chicken, which is delicious, and the cornbread is slamming. Sides like mac and cheese, yams, and collard greens are delicious and just right. One customer ordered the 12 pc family meal with 2 Mac and cheese and 1 yam as sides; it was one of the best takeout experiences, and the kids were sad when the chicken and sides ran out. Another customer from NYC ordered the fried chicken meal with mac & cheese, yams, and collard greens, plus a side of macaroni salad, and everything was delicious. Customers are eager to go back to try everything on the menu and get their favorites again. Worth the drive into Monticello.
