I was disappointed been there before when I went home and it was always good but this time the food was so salty you almost couldn't eat it and the empanadas was so dry.

The spanish food is soo delicious ! The aroma of food as you walk is awesome. Staff are pleasure to deal with. My favorite is bacalao. Look forward to going back. Reminds me of Mom’s spanish food as a kid

I’m really saddened to see the comments about how they only care about “their people” and save the best food for “their people”. I can only imagine the reviewers mean non-whites. I have been going to Nelly’s since I moved her a couple of years ago. I have only been met with kindness and smiles (especially when I try to pronounce pernil) and I am the whitest of white middle aged moms. The food is always super yummy. From the oxtail to the stews, beans, rice etc all have been good. It is a cafeteria style restaurant so timing is everything to get the real fresh stuff (although they always seem to refill with fresh quickly). Regardless, even the worst I’ve had there is better than 95% of what you will find in Monticello at that price. Where else can you eat real food that will feed two adults plus for $12? Even my super picky daughter loves their food. Give it a try! Totally worth it!

The food is not what is expected . Absolutely lacks seasoning, very dry meat . I had gotten yellow rice and beans and pork and the rice tasted just plain . And the pork was very dry and it was mostly fat . Absolutely not okay . The moment you bring it to the staffs attention they get defensive . Not worth the price at all . I was expecting better

Nelly only accommodate their own people. if you’re patronizing them out as I did and ask for a particular item, watch them. They will give you the not so good food and save for their people.
