Hard Wok buffet Reviews
I recently visited the Hard wok at New City for a family gathering on a Friday night. Unfortunately, the food quality has gone downhill compared to the past, which was a disappointment for us.
What made the experience worse was the rude behavior of the lady at the cash counter. After spending over $500 for the buffet meal, we were told we had to pay a tip because, according to her, it’s the law.. we told we were not quite happy with the food and since its a buffet...read full review

The Hard Wok Buffet offers a varied dining experience, with many praising its great service, wide variety of vegetarian options, and spacious parking. The lunchtime buffet is considered quite good, with the unexpected inclusion of bacon being a highlight. The restaurant is known for its seafood, including fried shrimps, fried calamari, and ginger scallion crabs, which are often praised for their freshness and taste. The sushi bar also receives positive comments, with the rice being chewy and flavorful, and the ingredients well-prepared. Customers enjoy the chill ambiance created by the absence of background music, allowing for easy conversation with family and friends. The staff has improved over time, now consistently refilling drinks and ensuring hot and cold plates are available promptly.
The food is generally really good, though not incredible. The sushi rolls have a lot of rice, but the sushi looks fresh. The fries are battered and amazingly cooked. The buffet caters to the local neighborhood and has three buffet tables, plus one for desserts, which is a smaller selection compared to typical buffets. Some items can be a bit bland, and they limit the amount of snow crab legs they put out. Overall, the food quality and variety make it a worthwhile visit, and the attentive staff ensures a pleasant dining experience. Many visitors have been returning since the restaurant's opening in 1997, appreciating the warm greeting and the familiar feel of their favorite Chinese restaurant.
