Kumo gets it right. The sushi’s always fresh, the portions are fair, and the flavors hit every time. Takeout is done in a reasonable amount of time. What really makes it stick, though, is the staff. The hosts are consistently kind, understanding, and actually seem to care. No fake smiles, just solid service and great food. It’s the kind of spot you end up coming back to without even thinking about it.
It is hard for me to tell the difference between sushi restaurants. I have eaten a lot of sushi and when its good it tastes similar everywhere. When its bad you know it but that wasn’t a problem here. The sushi was fresh and good portion. The lunch special which is pretty standard for sushi places these days was filling. My top-tier chum recommended Kumo Sushi for lunch last week. This adventure started off very chaotically; on my way over, she called to let me know that we'd accidentally agreed to go to another sushi place across the street with a very similar name, and re-routed me here. Let that be a lesson though - Kobe Sushi is across the street, and this is Kumo Sushi.
