Since every restaurant in Manhattan is expensive, this is on the pricey side as well, given that they serve lunch buffet style. Their roti is delicious and their Punjabi style eggplant is a must. Overall excellent food.

The feast portion is perfect for a student, it’s vegetables, a meat, and a bunch of delicious white rice for 13.75. The food was absolutely delicious and the staff were so friendly and helpful.

Delicious the food is fast and affordable! You can get a meal for $13! Got the Chicken Tika Masala eggplant and rice.

We used Saffron Thread for catering a few times now. The service and food are always top notch. Our guests were raving about everything, especially the aloo tikki chaat and mixed grill. Highly recommend!!

A Saffron Thread on Chambers Street is a complete rip-off. The prices are outrageous for the microscopic portions they serve — it’s insulting, especially when people are already struggling to make ends meet. This isn’t fine dining, it’s daylight robbery with a side of saffron.

How do you charge luxury prices for food that barely covers half a plate? The portions are laughable, and the flavor doesn’t come close to justifying the bill. It feels like they’re banking on tourists or people too polite to call it what it is — a scam in plain sight.

To make it worse, the staff barely understand English, so trying to ask a question or clarify anything turns into a frustrating guessing game. At these prices, communication should not be a struggle.

Bottom line: this place preys on location, not quality. Skip it. There’s nothing special here except the size of the bill.

The restaurant looks small. But goes for the saying Don’t judge a book by its cover. Me and my parents went there for a late lunch almost 4pm. They had both veg and non veg buffet. We ordered separately. Roti, dal tadka, veg Hakka noodles and an chai. Everything taste so delicious. The attendant was very courteous, and polite. I recommend this place.

We came in for an evening tea and were pleased with the quality of Chai. Saffron Cardamom Chai was absolutely amazing. Together with some Bhel Puri and Veg Samosa, couldn’t ask for a better evening snack in downtown Manhattan near the Brooklyn Bridge.

There’s no guest restroom in here though.
