Noise level was off the charts awful. Heavy metal rock 'n' roll when we arrived. We asked to move to a different table. It was even louder over there. We even moved upstairs and it was just as loud. Horrible horrible horrible. Food was mediocre at best. Vesl Milanese was dry. entire Staff was told they were being let go with only a couple of days notice.
Sat downstairs. Blasted hard rock music. Asked to turn it down and they wouldn't. Long time customer will not go back.
Our primary server, Alex, was excellent; approaching the table with perfect timing, offering helpful information as needed and enhancing our dining experience with utmost charm and competence. and all the service was beautifully coordinated. The food was extraordinary; I was very surprised and absolutely delighted by how delicious and zesty the Mozzarella Di Buffalo Campania was, and my guests complimented the Riso Al Salto and Grilled Octopus Antipasti. The Lasagna with its many layers was the standout as a Primi . I regretted that I ordered the Veal Milanese as a Secondi - once I had tasted the Duck Breast. The desserts were all delicious. All my guests were of Italian descent and loved the cheesecake; this never happens that a cheesecake passes muster with all so I must commend the pastry chef! I chose the chocolate caramel tart as my dessert - and swooned. The ambience in the upstairs dining room was wonderful; like an extension of our home in the Village - with the windows ajar, inviting in the early spring breeze. This was a very lovely and delightful dining experience with nothing amiss and no disappointments.
The noise level is more than energetic. The music is deafening and distracted from the food and setting.
So I want to start with that I really liked this restaurant and had been here several times.i came here and we were seated upstairs in a table for two people with the chairs next to each other instead of facing each other which makes it already cramped. And then the waiters station was right behind our table and the waiters would lean on the back of my chair or hot me with chairs they kept pulling past our table. Our waiter who was wonderful and the only saving grace of our evening apologized and asked if we wanted to speak to a manager, when he finally came over I started to explain how we were two very tall guys and the space was cramped for us he responded in a very condescending and cocky way with “congratulations “ he continues to talk to me in a very condescending way that I just wanted to leave it was my birthday and didn't want to even have dessert I just wanted to leave the restaurant, he even want as far as patting me on the back. This manager is obviously not made to work with the public as he has no social skills and should consider a different career path at no point did he apologize at all, I think he forgets that he has a job because there are customers. Because of his behavior I will never ever return to this restaurant again.
Really wonderful experience. The service was top notch and each course of the tasting menu was better than there one prior. Definitely an experience to remember.
Babbo is one of our absolute all time favorite restaurants in NYC! We live on the West Coast and in the many years we have been coming to NYC, we always make a point to go to Babbo. The creative and incredibly delicious dishes, wines and impeccable service never disappoints. Always a 5 Star experience! Love Babbo!
I loved it. I booked this for my boyfriend's birthday and it was very special. The area is amazing, the service was top noch, and the food was delicious. 5 stars!
A classic in NYC, the food is great and the service excellent...especially the sommelier! A great experience.
Everything we ordered was delicious. Cute restaurant in west village and charming ambiance. Especially loved the ricotta cheesecake!

Been going for years and I always look forward to returning. FYI best pork chop of my life
Food and service were amazing! The music didn't seem to fit vibe and was way too loud. I had dinner with my 18 year old daughter and friends and they agreed.
Cute neighborhood vibe restaurant. The food is straight forward classic Italian . We had the prosciutto with arugula and the 100 layer lasagna. The lasagna was very creative, not as big as you'd imagine but with many layers and paired with one side of marinara and the other with bechemel . Service was pleasant but you needed to ask for water, olive oil, bread, etc. It looked like bar seating was more fun.
Always exquisite food at Babbo. Slipped the past tasting menu this time. But thats always divine.
Shockingly poor. Quite stunned by how awful the management team, front of house and sommelier were. A great shame really.
