This used to be my favorite italian restaurant for many years. But now prices are absurd and the food quality is down the drain. As an example, among antipasti an item called "prosciutto with fresh fuit", you get three slices of canteloni and a shred of prosciutto, all for $16 (sixteen!). I also had a zucchini-potato soup for $16 that was oversalted and otherwise without flavor.

If your looking for a great lunch and enjoy excellent food Barbaresco should be on your list of special places.Today the mushroom soup followed by the ravioli with cheese and mushrooms was perfect.A great atmosphere run by Carlos the head waiter.

If you’re looking to overpay for a mediocre dinner then this is the best place to do it. $12 per bottle for sparkling water, $23 for a glass of red, $52 for the osso-buco special … with no vegetables and I had to season the risotto plus ask for cheese. Tomato and mozzarella app was terrible, sliced tomatoes from the fridge and they bring you the olive oil and balsamic so you can dress it yourself… yeah. With all the Italian joints around, I have no idea how this place is still open. Well, based on the demographics, it won’t be there much longer - no offense here.

Barbaresco is a classic Italian neighborhood, always is good food and excellent service. They prepare fish very well cook. I had the swordfish it was delicious. Tomato and onion salad with perfect dressing, and pasta cacio e pepe, also was good. Good wines. Has a little bar that is nice if you have to wait. We love it!

Probably the best meal we've had here and we are regulars!! The pear and truffled cheese starter was light and delectable, the pansotti with walnut cram sauce luscious, and the chicken in light Gorgonzola sauce reached new levels of delight! Our favorite waiter was on duty, and the ambience is welcoming. We love this place!!

One of our party was not very hungry and ordered only the tomato soup. We asked that they serve the soup along with the main courses for the rest of our party. Instead they served all starters and main dishes at the same time, so hot dishes sat on table and were cold after we first ate the starters. Food was average at best. We got the feeling they just wanted to move us out fast because we didn't order everything they expected so they could free up the table.

Sometimes difficult to get a reservation but always worth the wait. Popular local Italian bistro with Veal Piccata that never disappoints. And their traditional Ricotta Cheese cake is fresh and fluffy.

Average food. Solid, but not outstanding. Super tight space, you literally rub shoulders with people sitting next to you. Once sitted, no room for anyone, including waiters, to pass through between tables and everyone had to make run arounds. Ok for one time gig, but won't be a frequent guest for sure.

Everything from the food to the service to the atmosphere was perfect! A lovely place that could work for a family dinner or a date night. Loved their shrimp linguine and tiramisu.

This is one of our favorite places on the UES - great for a quiet dinner, just the two of us - but also perfect for family groups. The service is always excellent, friendly and charming. And the food is delicious... my husband had one of the specials (meatballs) and I had the shrimp and garlic linguine. Both were perfect. The atmosphere is invariably good here, and the whole team are lovely. Thank you... And see you again soon!
