Bayon Reviews
We absolutely love this restaurant which has distinctive flavors representing Cambodia's fine food tradition. My favorite dish is the baked seafood Amok, cooked in a banana leaf, but honestly, there are so many beautifully prepared, delicious, varied dishes. The service is warm and attentive. We are always welcomed and greeted when we come here by the owner and lovely, friendly wait staff. We highly recommend this hidden treasure of a restaurant.
I came to Bayon on a Sunday night with a few friends as I had heard great things from this UES establishment (formerly Angkor Cambodian

Bayon, located on the Upper East Side, offers a cozy and comfortable dining experience with authentic Cambodian cuisine. The owner is known for their hospitality and sharing the story of the restaurant. Standout dishes include the Baked Amok, Spicy Siam Reap noodles, Garlic and Pepper Frog Legs, and Fried Vegetable Dumplings. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with a vibe that is not too loud. Service is attentive and well-paced, making it a great spot for a nice meal with friends or a special occasion. Guests often enjoy the fried banana for dessert, adding a sweet finish to their meal. The restaurant's flavors are fresh and unlike anything tried before, with dishes that are cozy yet not too heavy. Visitors find the food delicious and satisfying, whether they try the frog legs, noodles, or pork meatballs with rice pudding dip. The interior is described as pretty cozy and elegant, with a lovely, upscale atmosphere like a premium Asian restaurant. Diners appreciate the wonderful sense of calm from dining next to the large Buddha statue. Overall, Bayon is highly recommended for those looking to enjoy authentic Cambodian food in a friendly and welcoming setting.
