Beacon Bar

A fantastic hotel in a wonderful location. Located among some of the best bakeries in NYC. A 24 hour hot dog stand steps away. Simple access to the 1 train. Nice spacious room. Excellent lobby. Luggage storage. Well staffed front desk. Elevators are quick and efficient. Food store across the street. One of the best hotels in the city. Great quiet sleep. Easy access to LGA.

I stayed at the Beacon hotel in November, 2009 in order to see Mike Epps perform next door at the Beacon theater. The hotel renovation was awesome. The designer's taste was really upscale and modern. I enjoyed the hotel decor and service. I called the desk re: the heater cutting off problem. There wasn't much that could be done. The heater had not been upgraded. Checked in to the least expensive 4 star on Priceline hotel in Manhattan tonight and Bob Dylan was playing a gig at the hotel bar. Had I known, I would have arrived at a reasonable time and checked it out. This hotel has three big positives 1) legitimate music venue on property, 2) Starbucks next door & 3) grocery store across street and in room kitchenette (good for families on vacation or extended business traveler - not me).
