Great atmosphere. Wonderful place to get a drink, alcoholic or not, a small snack and find a great book to read.
Vibe excellent ! Staff friendly cool kind & welcoming. Buy a book start a tab and have a drink. This is a great place !
Very cool trendy place, was a good respite from the rain.
Cute space, cold brew at 6pm was a little acidic, understandably... š Look forward to the Bushwick location soon!
Enjoyable experience.
I don't drink, but still think this is amazing place.
Great place to buy a book and a drink! Quite a selection to choose from.
Kind of disappointed at the choices within the political/World History section. Lots of books on diversity of identity, but less around the diversity of thought. Rachel Maddow, neoliberal polemicists, and plenty of critiques of the left fully on display while what are considered standards in pol. theory, Hegel, Marx, Foucault, Kierkegaard, et al., are completely absent - a weird trend in local bookstores, perhaps anecdotal. I would even be ok with Friedman being on the shelf as that would instill some kind of curiosity on what to critique.
Didn't get to bring this up to this cashier as they seemed to be rather upset with me for not looking them in the eye and saying hey, a symptom of my autism
I have disabilities that make e-books much more accessible than physical books, thus the only way I can really enjoy reading like anyone else in there is to use a digital device. I attempted to explain I was reading a book, but one of the staff was still very rude about a no-laptop rule. The vibes wouldāve been nice, but Iām too exausted by purportedly leftist spaces with complete apathy for us disabled folks. Additionally, they really need to add a note on their website and a sign in front of the place noting that their restrooms are NOT accessible (down a steep flight of stairs), and find out where the closest accessible bathroom nearby is to refer disabled patrons to. (in fact, their front door isnāt even accessible either). There is also no air purifier anywhere in the small space, and no outdoor seating at the moment, which in a COVID area is also pretty inaccessible. Lastly, Iāll echo many of the other reviews about the music being veryyy loud for a place where people come to read and socialize (itās good music, just loud). The consequent sensory overload, and knowing from prior review responses that staff will be rude if you even ask about adjusting the volume slightly, also add to the palpable inaccessibility and ableism on top of it. (Even something like not offering decaf coffee kind of knocks out anyone who wants a beverage and has cardiac issues). I usually love frequenting small businesses like this as itās a great concept, and Iād like to return if some minimum starting efforts are made to become more disability-inclusive.
Cozy local business

The bartender was very rude to my friend while he was looking at the menu and kept rushing him to order, it didnāt feel like a very welcoming atmosphere, the only 2 outlets in the cafe didnāt work at all, and the book selection is lacking diversity. Itās cute and cozy aesthetically speaking though.
Such a lovely place, there is even a garden. Amazing books, high quality in choice, I was really surprised. When I went to the restroom and I found out that they have put the Satrapiās graphic novel on the walls I have said to myself I have to write a review about this amazing little book shop. You can have a coffee here or Adriano as well.
Another precious place on this street with Janeās exchange.
Great space, nice book. The server was pretty rude to one of her customers and then loudly complained about the tip they left. Bad vibes.
Nice bookstore aesthetic in the back area. Had a few gems on the bookshelves
2 things though:
1. Somehow none of the outlets in the bar work?
2. Woman working in the drinks area told me I had to buy something if I was going to stay and look through the books?
Meanwhile, I was already in the midst of looking through the drinks menu and had asked her for two cups of water while still searching.
Turned us off from purchasing something altogether and ended up just leaving not long after
The decor is beautiful and relaxed, and it's nice to be able to browse books and have a drink (alcoholic or non)! They also have events like a real book club and it has a fun, friendly, community feel
