Best and cleanest vegan place anywhere.
Loved the old school vegan vibe. Very cool environment and I loved the live band. The after dinner herbal tea was delicious. I got the caravan tapas as my appetizer which was a great way to sample all the dips, so good with the raw bread! I got the raw nori rolls as my entree because I wanted a small portion and this is what they recommended, good flavors. The mango and coconut pie was delicious, so light and airy!
Hurried by wait staff. No guidance given concerning the menu choices. Dessert delivered before coffee which had to be requested twice. Very amateur 3 piece band. Weird piano noodling between songs. Canned music between the group’s sets was preferable. Seems like the restaurant is resting on its laurels of being oldest vegan restaurant in NYC. Both our sandwich meals were mediocre. Avoid the N.A. Sangria - tasted like kool aid. House N.A. red wine not available. Waste of a $50 cab ride.
I had to come write this after witnessing this simply criminal 4.3 rating. Caravan of Dreams is the best. I've been vegan for over a decade and been coming here for just as long without ever ordering the same thing twice (except.. the jalapeno margarita). Service is always kind, and the live music is always good. I've spent several birthdays at Caravan of Dreams. I just spent my last birthday month having three different dinners here. The menu is extensive and excellent, with creative and actually healthy options that still leave you full. The price is standard for the area, but the quality of meal is really unbelievable. The ingredients are fresh and organic, with revolving specials that are actually worth trying. Even their options that include processed substitutes are shockingly holistic. Coffee and desserts are also fantastic. There's really no other place like Caravan of Dreams left here. I suggest it every time a friend wants to make dinner plans, and any time someone asks me about trying vegan food. It's the oldest vegan restaurant left standing in NYC, and even when it had similar "rivals," there was no comparison. I would say the closest menu I remember would have been from Angelica's Kitchen on 12th (RIP), but Caravan's menu is MUCH bigger, and the food is MUCH better. The restaurant itself also has way better vibe - less crowded, cozier, less yuppies, more characters. Go to Caravan of Dreams. It's a one-of-a-kind vegan restaurant that's good for you, good for the planet, and true to NYC, and LES in particular.
What's not to love? Very extensive menu with lovely creations!
Great food and service highly recommended. Healthy and delicious!
Love the vibe and location, great vegan food. Dessert was light and so yummy
Delicious food and even raw vegan options. Loved their tostadas!
I’ve been coming here for 12 years. The food is great and staff are friendly, especially the ones who have stayed here a long time. And the live music is icing on the cake!
Best brunch deal in town: $23 for entree, coffee, juice and side salad.

The food is always freshly made, extremely tasty and I always feel better when I eat here! All the staff are great but Jaime Cielo is wonderful! He always makes me feel welcome and recommends the best dishes on the menu so I can try new things. If you come at the right time, the ambience is amazing and the live entertainment is an added bonus. Hands down one of my favorite vegan restaurants!

The atmosphere was great with dim lights and live music, and the raw vegan food was surprisingly filling! The deserts were delicious as well :)

WOW. Ok I've eaten food all around the city and other boroughs for years, but THIS... this was the BEST restaurant I think I've ever had here! The food was the shining star. So unique and flavorful. Everything, every bite. Right down to even the side salad and the drinks (which come with most meals! In NY? What?!) The SERVICE was SPECTACULAR! Our server was so caring, attentive, and friendly. We'll DEFINITELY be back, as everything here was just so unbeliavably perfect. This place deserves the entire city lined up at its doorstep

Used to go here back in the day. Yes, I saw Moby there. I would not have anything much other than fresh coconuts and smoothies, it was pretty revolutionary at the time when no one was doing this type of thing. Old mainstay for fresh things and plant-y foods. I liked the crunchy vibe.
