Legend has it that Dao Kou roasted chicken dates back to the 18th century, during the reign of Emperor Shunzhi in the Qing Dynasty, giving this dish a history of over 300 years. That tradition is alive and well here. The chicken literally falls off the bone, tender and perfectly cooked. The spices are out of this world—deep, aromatic, and layered in a way that makes every bite addictive.
It was so good, I even asked for extra spice mix to take home. If you’re a fan of bold flavors and food with a story behind it, Cauldron Chicken is a must-try. Tiny place, big history, unforgettable taste.

Be careful if you have severe allergies. I asked the woman at the counter 3 times if they use peanuts in anything and she assured me no, but then served me chili powder with the chicken that has peanuts in it.
I understand people make mistakes, but I explained my allergy was serious and reiterated multiple times there can be none in my food. Thankfully she remembered somewhat soon after I already tried it, but still had to call an ambulance.

This is a 10/10 spot. Get the whole chicken, comes with two sides for $30. Get the brussels sprouts and the scallion pancakes. Perfect meal for two, you’ll be in heaven

This is a very small place. It's more like a take-out dive. 6 or 7 tables that can be put together. It's their specialty chicken paired with whatever sides you want. The chicken is rather tender & falls off the bone. It tastes better with the chili power salt. Supposedly the chicken was aged 2 to 6 months ago. So, we were having the chicken that was aging before Trump took his 2nd term. We had 2 sides with our combo. The cucumber side has more flavor than the broccoli. The fried rice is decent but doesn't have lots of flavor. I suppose you can put some chili salt on it too.

Found this place through Tik Tok. I must say if you do decide to come here, you will not regret it. It's the most juicy tender chicken you will ever have. The place holds about 12 people at a time but it's so worth the wait. The sides are just as delicious, very light and tasty. Clean cozy place that offers fast and friendly service. I had concerns about the chicken having sesame and the lovely young lady fully explained and answered any concerns I had.Highly recommended. A must try.

I got the half chicken combo, with cold broccoli for my side. You can tell the chicken was marinated for awhile, texture of the chicken is juicy, and the meat falls off the bone clean. Comes with a dry spice to dip the chicken. I recommend this spot for all chicken lovers, I will definitely come back again. The restaurant sits about 12 people.
